    Question on new XLC

I have a standard WBB which I like a lot but have been thinking of upgrading to the new XLC as it seems to have a few new design features that really appeal to me. Not least is the new removable gug netting which allows more visibilty from the hammock.

Can I ask the question to any new owners of an XLC, what is the hammock like when the bug net is removed ?
I mean does it feel there is a lot of loose material? because the tie-out point have been taken away with the netting.
It is not a big issue but curious to know.

I have a WBBB and upgraded to the XLC. Extra material due to losing tie-outs has not been a concern for me. I haven't even thought about it until I read your post. I am 6' 185 and find the XLC is more comfortable.
My biggest fear is that when I'm dead, my wife will sell all of my hammock gear for what I said I paid for it!

I never completely remove the bug net from my XLC because then the shelf is gone.

It is just the WB Traveller hammock without the bug net. Simple hammock.

With the net removed I find that it doesn't have loose material or anything that hangs over your face like other parachute hammocks. It is nice for a day hike.

Mine is fine, although for netless I'm going to add a knotty mod after losing my quilt onto the ground a few times.

No issues, but I leave the netting in place tied up so I can use the shelf. Would not be an issue if I had a ridgeline gear bag.. ok now I see a need, will be off-line looking for something. Comfort is not an issue with the netting off!
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!

I've owned both and can say the XLC is a huge improvement over the 10'wbbb.
Dealing with the zipper around the gathered ends can be a bit of a challenge but other than that there is no comparison comfort wise between the two.

Thanks Outandback that is interesting as I find my standard comfortable anyway, but it seems the extra length and other improvements make the XLC even better. Is there any stowage for the net by the way?
