MO > Irish Wilderness hang - September 18-20

Looks like the weather "slipped" about one day. Was looking like high 80's on Friday but that's moved to thursday. 60% chance of rain/thunderstorms on Friday with a high of 82. Interesting thing is that it drops down to 53 that night and as low as 50 saturday evening. Saturday and Sunday should be perfect hiking days and honestly, I'm looking forward to the rain on Friday. 1st day is a pretty straight, level, visible trail; in other words, a good trail to hike in steady rain. It'll also make White's creek on day 3 mor interesting. Base weight is moving over 7lbs; I'm going to add an ultralight/thin down vest and a very thin long sleeve/pant base layer for sleeping. Yup, I'm a wimp!

River might be up so fishing with beaded nymphs; hard part about ultralight hiking is no waders and that river is cold. Not sure how that's going to work out

As for the limeric; still struggling; have a theme going about "men of the wood" but it sounds kind of creepy.

Check out NOAA weather for Doniphan, MO; it's really close to where we'll be. I do think it'll be a tad cooler by the river and at fiddler springs but I think we can plan on a bit of moisture and seeing Disco in his kilt in the Irish Wilderness

Looks like we will get a little damp Sat. and Sun. now. I don't think we will know for sure until we experience it. I can nap very well with the sound of rain on my tarp.

What do you paddle? My goal is a sit on top fishing kayak! I understand the "wet" issue and have gone to sufficient lengths to ensure my down stays dry.

Discovered tonight that I only had three esbit tablets left; ordered some more but if they don't make it, I'll go with alcohol which is fine too!

Going to be a hard three work days this week, have to let an employee go so hiking the latter part of this week will be a welcome relief!!!
