I was looking at the pack hanging system on Dutch's site and was thinking Dutchware might work for a bear bag system
Has anyone done this?

Yes there is a great PCT bear bag system using titanium ridgeline biner.
I think Hangandy and Sargent Rock did vids.

Here is my first ever attempt at a video. All done and edited on my Windows Phone.
Supply list is a dog bone connector, Dutch mini biner, 40 to 50 feet of Zing-it line and then your food bag or container.

How difficult is it to get the dogbone secured when reaching up over your head in the field? And how easy is it to get it loose when you're ready to bring your food down? I've never used a dogbone before so I'm not sure how they work. I use the same method but with a mini-biner and a CF toggle in a MSH. The toggle is easy to remove when I bring it down but sometimes the MSH is a pain to do stretched over my head.

It's easy as stink. The original method calls for a twig that you tie a hitch to, but I find this easier and doesn't require finding a proper size twig which can be trickier sometimes.
The only reason I needed to stop the video was because I was also holding the camera.
One thing I didn't add is that this is one time the slickness of Zingit is a bonus. Makes it run more smoothly over your limb.
The only other consideration I was thinking of is the weight limit for the Dutch titanium mini biner. I couldn't imagine it would fail before your food bag, but if you had say a 200 pound food cache you may want to attach your line directly to your container and then just clip the biner beside the attachment point.

Get the ridgeline biners and not the Dutch biners.

You could use a Dutch Wasp in place of the dog bone for an All-Ti, All-Dutch PCT Bear Bagging Solution. Maybe throw the half hitch over the antennae to reduce the chance of the Wasp feeding through the ridgeline biner. Back-splice the end of the line and the Wasp won't fly away.
Great system, Hangandy. Thanks!
Mike

2.2 grams! Nice. Might be a good Summer replacement for my CAMP nano biner--which is around 23g. But for winter/scrambles/sketch terrain I likely have climbing rated gear to scavenge. I often find the bear bag line is spun around a bunch in the wind--any jamming issues with the smaller setup?
I used Dynaglide for my setup and it's performed well; I like how it feels to throw more than the Zing-It. And I see Dutch has a pretty fair price on it too--many of the arborist sites' S&H charges are absurd.
BTW, If you find yourself setting up or leaving in the dark, I highly suggest adding a reflective throw bag: WP_20140417_004.jpg
