Lightbulb No-Sew tarp pull-outs....Did I come up with this?

Hey guys! So I received a Warbonnet Edge for Christmas, but the person who ordered it forgot to ask if pull-outs could be added to the center of each panel (for pole mod). I didn't really feel like sending it back, but neither did I want to bring a thread injector anywhere close to {in Gollum's voice} my precious. Logically, I next started looking for no-sew options. Grip Clips and TATO tarp pullouts appealed to me the most, but honestly, I'm broke right now and can't afford them. So, I came up with this:
    DSCN8099.jpg
    DSCN8101.jpg
    DSCN8095.jpg
    DSCN8096.jpg

All these are made of, is two small fishing bobbers with the hardware removed, two handles from the largest binder clip I could find, and 1/8 shock cord per side with bank line leaders. Cheap, easy, light (0.5 oz total), removable, replaceable, and so far, non-damaging to my tarp (Warbonnet Edge).

    Thoughts? Questions, Comments? Concerns?

I've not seen those components but many use a ping pong ball, smooth river stone to accomplish the same thing.
    Nice thinking outside the box.

    Nice Modifications!
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!

Thanks gentlemen! My goal was to not have to deal with any knots when attaching/detaching. With the binder clip handles, the higher the tension on it, the tighter it pinches the bobber, but because of the way it is shaped, it will not fall off if zero tension is applied. Similar to the TATO clips...

An excellent suggestion! My first though was to just bend the ends in a circle. Apparently the clips are stainless spring steel, and I, for all I'm worth (albeit not much) can not get them to bend. Any suggestions for "end caps" ?

I think I saw on another thread where pullouts similar to this stretched out the fabric. Just a heads up.

    Lots of room under there!

I've done this trick on blue tarps when a grommet pulls out. A small river stone, and loop a guyline around it.

Thanks for the heads up. Any chance of remembering the name of said thread?

And yes, I loved the additional space!
