I found some light weight polyester material for cheap and was wondering what people thought about using that
    as UQ and TQ material?

It should be fine, if you are using down you will want calendered fabric though. If it is taffeta you will love it, the thin poly fabrics tend to be lining taffeta and it feels good against the skin. The calendered stuff breaks the wind pretty well too. As always with light fabrics it will probably be a bit of a pig to work with unless you use a very fine thread (like mara/rasant 120) and a fine needle to suit.

If you are using down, make sure the fabric is rated as being down proof. If you are using Clamashield insulation then it does not matter.

That reminds me, primaloft also requires down proof [calendered] fabric. Some do use it for quilts so i thought it worth a mention.
