Anyone use UGQ Hanger Series Tarp?

Hello All,
I am doing my research in order to transition from tent to hammock and am now at tarps . I have had it narrowed down between the WBBB Edge and the OES Maccat Standard, then this puppy graced my browser: The UGQ Hanger Series Tarp. It is lighter than both and seems to be bigger. Does anyone have any experience with this tarp? I'll be using it with either a WBBB or DH Roaming Gnome.

I have not used the tarp in question, but I have seen several of UGQ's quilts in person and I can tell you they're top shelf all the way, you will not be disappointed. UGQ's quality and service are legendary.

+1 on what Red said. I've never personally used their tarps, but have seen lots of their work and it is great. Can't go wrong with UGQ.

I don't have a UGQ tarp, but I do have the WB Edge and the OES Deluxe tarps. The sizes of those two tarps are comparable when strung up next to each other. Both have about the same length; the Deluxe is a tad wider, but the Edge provides more coverage on the edges, since the cat-cut is not as extreme as with OES tarps. The Standard should be a good bit smaller, both in ridgeline length and in width. It probably would work with the 10' Blackbird, but I wouldn't use it with an 11' hammock (e.g. WBBB XLC).

Out of the WB Edge and the OES Deluxe I find the Edge superior, since it provides more coverage for less weight. You should also take into account that OES occasionally has problems with fulfilling orders. A quick search will bring up quite a few threads on that topic.

Just looking at the specs, the UGQ Hanger tarps look good. UGQ has a good reputation, so I'd say you probably won't be sorry for going with them. It would be interesting to see a Hanger 11 strung up next to an Edge. The weight saving could be either due to using a lighter fabric (WB uses 1.1oz/30D fabric, UGQ 1.1oz/30D and 20D fabrics, depending on your color choice), or due to deeper cat-cuts.

And just to make your choice even harder: have you already seen Wilderness Logics' Tadpole tarp? This is probably the most popular tarp in that category. Simply Light Designs also has some interesting and very unusual tarps. I like the idea of the Biker's Bliss tarp, that has one long and one short side. Choices

I got the 12 foot winter tarp for my wife and she loves it. Super spacious. Agreed with aforementioned comments about quality.

I just bought a winter dream and it is arriving today! Have seen all the types you mentioned and you cannot go wrong with any. UGQ has great quality.
I'll throw another at ya is the arrowhead equip. Toxaway. I have had one for several years and it also is a great tarp and light in weight as well.

While I do not own any of the tarps in question, I do own tarps by Warbonnet ( Mamajamba ) and UGQs ( WinterDream ) and both are of excellent quality.

You might also want to look at the cuben tarps from HammockGear and tarps from Wildreness Logics, Arrowhead and Jacks R Better.

As stated, while OES is know for very high quality tarps, he has had numerous communications issues and shipping issues over the part few years

I have both the 12' Hanger and Winter Dream Tarps, I can't recommend them enough. Superb quality, I never backpack without one of them in my pack.
