No hammock sleeps 2, the double is a misnomer that means its bigger than the single.

Do you really need the bug net? I know many of us find that we don't.

Have you figured in bottom insulation? I would do that first and let that guide your hammock choice.

Do some reading on here. I DIY'd my first one and I hadn't even been in a hammock. $25 in fabric and you will have a great hammock. Suspension will run you about another $20.

I made a hammock for my son for about $5. My mom found some nylon jacket lining on sale for a dollar a yard, and my dad had some zip ties, I used this method.

I also bound it with bright pink and lime ribbon that we had on hand to brighten it up, but that wasn't necessary, just fun.

Here's the best advice you can get on a hammock:

Its only the first part of an overall system that includes a tarp, and most importantly, an underquilt. A good underquilt will cost a minimum of $150.

Spend the least amount of money you have on the hammock, and most of it on an underquilt.

The DIY options for a gathered end hammock, especially Tablecloth hammocks are your most economical.

If you don't want to make your own, Dutchwaregear has probably the best priced hammocks on the market.

Go to Dutch and purchase one of his hammocks as already recommended, buy the suspension while you are there. Look around the DIY section for a easy top quilt and underquilt to keep you warm. As mentioned you may not need a bug net, if you do again, look in the DIY section. I found I rarely need netting. I do rinse my clothing in pyrethrum if we Hang where there are biting bugs.

If you want to spend the extra cash, shop all the vendors and see what will work the best for where you will mainly hang.

I have the Eno DN set up as well, Hammock, straps, Profly used on craigslist $85.... I just started out myself, If I were to do it again? Forget the slap straps (they stretch) go whoopie slings (just got mine in mail) they are only couple dollars more. Also I decided on getting the Kelty Noah tarp 12 for better coverage during winter hikes. my 2 cents... just found a Grand Trunk double for $40 New on craigslist I am gonna buy this week..

If you are camping in Az ditch the bug net. Make a DIY tablecloth or $30 from Dutch hammock, either will need suspension. Tadpole from Wilderness Logics is one of my favorite tarps and less then $100.

What temps are you expecting. If you have a pad and sleeping bag already that may work for this trip. A under quilt from Arrowhead in synthetic is very affordable and great quality.

Where and when will you be camping and we can dial in gear recommendations a little better.
