I've always used tex 40 polyester thread for the sides, stuff sack, etc and then tex 70 polyester or upholstery thread for the end-channels.

Hi Thumbs, what is the knotty mod? I've been trying to search for something about it on the forum to no avail!

I made a 1.1 multicamo 11.6foot single layer last year which is comfortable. It was sketchy with my girl friend and I in it and over weighted. I made a 1.6 hyper D 11.6 foot single layer hammock recently and it is super comfy alone and feels safer with two of us which I prefer cause alittle extra strength is a good thing. I have found 11.6 feet to be better then shorter I am 5,7. I want to make a 1.0 eventually.

Keep it 1.6 my friend. You're lucky to have someone to cosy up to that weight limit with.

The 1.0 would be a "dont get in here with me" hammock.
