beware lark head damaged my whoopie

I recently converted my HH expedition with ws and used a lark head knot after a few wraps around to shorten the tail a bit, I noticed that just after a few hangs the amsteel is showing a white strand about 3/8' beyond the lark head. My guess is the knot damaged the amsteel and the knot set making it longer showing the damage. Major bummer have to keep an eye on that for sure.

I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about. People have been using larksheads with whoopie slings forever.

I'm not sure, but that looks like it might be a broken strand in the picture.

It happened on both sides the head end not as bad however both are damaged at the peak of the knot where the most pressure is abrasion damage i suspect.

I'm not sure you could call that a larkshead knot - you've gone well beyond that with all the wraps, which could be putting stress on the Amsteel.

Are we sure we aren't looking at the tail of the bury poking out?

I think you're exactly right. If there was a broken strand, we would likely see the corresponding other half of the broken strand.
