I finally got my SilPoly 2.0 tarp completed. I will post a more complete build thread in the DIY section. The material is awesome! Tight as drum pitch with out cat cuts. Based on very early observations, I am completly sold on the SilPoly.

Very nice! Have you sealed the ridge line yet? If so, what did you use?

Thanks. I used Sil Net. I think the 2.0 was supposed to have the sealant issue resolved....I hope so.

This is what it looks like with the doors deployed. Someone else on this thread called them "sort of" doors. I like that; its accurate. Its also all I need down here in Texas.

The myog bug got to me too. After ordering silnylon from a source in Germany, I ordered khaki (wintertarp) and coyote brown silpoly (2 10x10 tarps) from RBTR.

I made a silnylon tarp and two silpoly tarps.

I made a bishop bag so I can unpack the tarp with the ridgeline on top.

My first "major" project, a cat-cut hex tarp (I now understand the cat cuts probably weren't necessary) from silpoly 2. I munged up some of the seams, but she's functional.IMG_20150809_092422-01.jpgIMG_20150809_092512-01.jpgIMG_20150809_092602-01.jpg

    Caminante: nice color. Tea?

Cat cuts maybe aren't necessary but those curves sure do look sweet.

Yep, green tea. It blends in nicely here in NC without being too drab for my tastes. I tell myself the cat cuts lightened my tarp by a few milligrams.

I should have mentioned that I used some HyperD 300 for the reinforcements.

I seam sealed my coyote brown tarp and then I found a topic saying the seal on silpoly started to peel and such. I hurried home to check the tarp that was still drying in the garage.

Pfff, the home made silicone sealant works great on the silpoly 2nd gen. I tried rubbing the sealed ridgeline with my finger and then pushed even harder when rubbing. No peeling.
