Working on an OD winter tarp as well. Easier to handle vs silnylon
My tarp with doors ( direct copy of the tarp featured on ripstopbytheroll.com ) is under construction.
I recently saw a discussion about whether cat cuts are necessary on a non-stretch fabric like silpoly.. so maybe the cat cuts aren't needed but they look nice. It's my first tarp so I'm happy either way.
I'll post up some shots when it's done.

6' ruler for scale.jpgforeground end.jpgmock up.jpg
Here are a few pics of my recent progress, after joining the three panels with two 13 1/2' flat-felled seams. This beast is 12' long at the ridgeline, and a full 14' wide. The side panel tie-outs are incorporated into the seams. That is a 6' ruler in the pics for scale.
Well mine is basically finished except for sealing the ridgeline and bonding the pullouts.
Quick pitch in the backyard in the rain just to see how it looks.
The color is the olive drab and does have more of a green hue than the pics suggest.

The darker patches are from hanging it in the rain last night and just folding it up while wet.
I have some small tests drying right now to test bond strength of Silnet and clear GE Silicone II
The Permatex I used to bond the reinforcements will rub off. I checked it on a scrap of Silnylon just to make sure it wasn't a bad batch and it bonds to it very well. So far it seams that Silnet in a not too thin or thick layer will be the most durable on this fabric but I will know more in 24 hrs.
I like that OD color-it looks good. You did a nice job on it too.
That could be bad news about the Permatex not sticking. If you can't effectively seam-seal, what's the point in using these new materials? Maybe something else will work better.
Great job on the build your tarp looks great! I was anxious to see the OD silpoly in the wild as it's more of a true OD compared to some of our other fabrics receiving the same dye recipe. The poly is easier to dye and you get a truer color in the finished textile compared to nylon. Really all the silpoly colors came out pretty close to the intended color, which is nice.
Please let us know how the tests go with other sealants. I have been working with the mill to tweak the coating process and this is the first lot to get the new coat.
My Tawny Color.
