    Pole Mods

My kids gave me some Dutch bling for Christmas including a set of pole mods. Before I start splicing cordage for it, I thought I would check the forum for advice from those who have gone before. Any thoughts on length, adjustability, stretch, etc?

    Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

I take a cord of just about anything. Start with 12 inches. Tie 3 loops in it. One in the middle and one on each end. I use one of the end ones to larks head on the pull out. The other two are to use depending on which pitch I use. Steep pitch I use the end loop. Porch mode I use the middle loop.

I use whoopie slings made of Zing-It that are adjustable from about 6-12". I use them with trekking poles instead of tent poles, but the concept is the same.

no, they were hiding at the bottom of the tarp page under monosodium glutemate.

I use 1/2" Beastee Dees on grosgrain. The hole is the perfect size and won't slide off the poles if you have the tips with the little lip on them. It looks like I only have a picture of the poles being used while I was in testing phase.

I made dog bones total length about 7 inches for the pole mod.

Question though, should I switch to a continuous ridgeline to keep the poles off the tarp? They very lightly touch the ridgeline of the tarp with my pullouts coming off the ends. Should I worry about rubbing?
