Cool Hammock camping in the Upper Enchantments - Washington

This was my hammock setup in the upper Enchantments in Washington.

There aren't too many choices for hammock camping as it's mostly bare, but there are some prime spots.

The lower Enchantments are known for their lakes

I'm excited to get back out there.

The Upper Enchantments are one of my favorite hiking locations anywhere. I highly recommend them if anyone visits Washington. The difference for me in having a hammock vs a tent is that I fell asleep and woke up with a phenomenal 180 degree "open" view. I also woke up to a bird landing on my head. I like the Amok Draumr because it converted into a chair which was a comfortable way of relaxing, reading, and drinking, once I found the view I wanted.

That IS beautiful. True there aren't many trees in sight though.

The photos I attached were from my facebook account, not from my camera, so the quality has been reduced from the originals. If you want to get a better perspective on the Enchantments, type in "Upper Enchantments" in a search engine like Google.

Unfortunately for me, I'm going to have to sell my hammock setup. I'm heading to Norway (Lofoten Islands) and Ireland/Scotland and there aren't enough trees so I'm going to have to buy a tent setup. I can't afford both. I'll get back into hammock camping once I recover some money after my trip. Probably sell my future tent setup when I get back as I like the adventure of hammock camping and scouting out the best places to hang.

When did you go? Aren't permits required? I love the views. I couldn't get a permit.

Great views, interesting design.....1st pic reminds me of a rocking chair overlooking the wilderness.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.
