Checking on status of an order from Dutch and got this msg....
Wow...they are going to deliver it before they get itYour item arrived at the Post Office at 7:52 am on December 20, 2014 in BEAUFORT, NC 28516.
The Postal Service expects to deliver the item on Friday, December 19, 2014.

But also remember......it's the USPS. Several times, I've had tracking hit a black hole. "Your item arrived 4/14/2014 at the Nashville Sort facility"
"Your item is due to depart the Nashville Sort Facility on 4/13/2014" (?). "your item is out for delivery from Dallas Sort" (how did it get there) "your item arrived at Lewisville Texas on 4/22/2014" (got that message on 4/20/2014???????) "YOur parcel was delivered 4/21/2014"........delivered before it even got to our local branch......go figure.

they've outsourced to newfoundland, to get that extra half hour
Not far off.
Reality is that since Canada has so much land, as long as we keep Quebec, that we span even more time zones. So in exchange for better international shipping rates we simply sold Dutch one of our surplus time zones.
So when you order things from Dutch he is actually in a time which is 2 hours ahead of when you thought you wanted the item. Therefore he is able to simply choose to mail it out to you in advance of your ordering it.
I just wonder if this is the same logic Dutch uses when his elves ask for advance pay.
