    Hello from up state NY

Hi all ! I am looking at getting into hammock camping . I am an avid Tenkara fly fisherman and traditonal bow hunter . I plan on combining hammock camping with these activates . I hike and fish the NY Adirondacks and the Vermont greens . I plane on doing some 1 to 5 or more night tenkara fishing hikes in Vermont next year . I would also like to go south ( Florida ??? ) in late February for some hiking , tenkara fishing . I have been a ground camper all my life and have camped all over the North East , and the rockeys from the 4 corners to Glacier Park . I am new to hammock camping .

May life's simplest things bring you the greatest pleasures !!!

Quite a few of us get together for trips in NY. Most are not posted "group hangs", but are done via PM and email. Sometimes even groundlings go with us. Or us with them.

I had noticed there were quite a few NY members , some from very near me . I tenkara fish a lot and traditional archery hunt . I go to the Adirondacks some but do most of my fishing in Vermont . I hope to do many over nighters and some extended fishing trips after winter . I would enjoy getting together with others . I spent a week with a few traditonal archers ground camping in Septemper in the Adirondacks . I have been thinking of trying hammock camping for years . When I was a teenager ( a life time ago ) I spent a lot of time in a surplus armey hammock . I am looking forward to being off the ground .

Welcome to the forum from an ex-upstate New Yorker. I grew up in a small town near Saratoga. Spent a lot of time in the Adirondacks. I hope you make it to the Yates Uhwarrie in the spring and we can swap stories.
