How to Sew Bugnet to Zipper?

Just finished attaching my first zipper to a DIY hammock based on XTrekkers video. I sewed the bugnet to the hammock with a zipper foot.
Is one row of stitching enough?
If you do 2 rows should you go closer to the zipper or away from the zipper?
How would you do a hem when the bugnet is pinned already to the zipper?
Is there a special way to trim the bugnet once sewed on? Do you trim right to the sew line?

    Thanks!

I use two or three rows of stitching depending on how I have cut my bugnet. If I pin and sew it on, I use three with no hem, two real close to the zipper and one close to the end of the zipper tape. Then I carefully cut the bugnet right along the zipper teeth. If I use a pattern for the bugnet, I do it a little different. I flip the bugnet over the zipper, sew, flip it back over and run another row of stitching. Hard to explain but looks good when finished.

I did my second row away from the zipper but it does depend on where your first row is. I used XTrekkers method also and found it too difficult t figure out how to do a hem (it's not in the video) so I just double stitched and seems pretty sturdy.

    Thumbs up

Zippers get pulled on and are a stress point.
+1 for multiple rows of stitching to reinforce the area you are going to be tugging on!

    Certainly can't hurt!

I have done several hammocks with this method. I was going to pin the next one and mark a left and a right side. The trim with extra to do a rolled hem. I would then un pin, roll the hem and then line up the left and right marks and double sew to the zipper. Thoughts?
