    Smile Four Top Quilts

I ended up making 4 different top quilts of varying sizes as Christmas gifts for some friends. Thanks to everyone on the forum for their inputs, especially Boston for taking the time to answer all my questions.

    DSC02974.jpg
The quilts varied in size from 55" wide/ 79" long (red) to 50" wide/ 69" long (purple)

    DSC02980.jpg
The finished weights, including stuff sack, ranged from 17.3oz (red) to 13.7oz (purple)

    DSC02979.jpg
Red, Yellow, and Purple quilts were constructed with Argon90 exterior and Argon67 interiors. The Green was made entirely from Argon67.

    DSC02653.jpg
All the quilts were made for use down to 40 degrees. I used 1.5" no-see-um baffles and 800FP hydrophobic treated down. The amount of down used ranges from about 8.5oz (red) to about 7.0oz (purple).

    DSC02656.jpg
There is a slight taper from the halfway point to the bottom. Typically around a 10" reduction in width.
There are 22" zippers to close the footbox along with snaps.

    DSC02657.jpg
There is also a shock cord drawstring to close off the footbox. Additionally, there are snaps and a second shock cord drawsting at the top of the quilt to close off around the neck if desired.

Thanks again to everyone for their inputs. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge.

Why don't I have friends and family that generous!? ;-)

Those quilts are a hulking great big dollop of awesomeness BTW (not feeling the stinginess take a hold and keeping any? :-))

Lovely gifts. Better than a fruitcake.

Just curious on the U-shaped baffles. How did you sew them? And why the shape?
