My Dad had one of those last time we went camping, and there I was with my measly 32oz Gatorade bottle. Having the largest pee bottle seems to have turned into a literal pissing contest.

River Joe, vimeygirl , and O&B nailed it. This shouldn't be a debate thread about to go or not to go in the hammock but an info thread for those that need to find a better way to empty their bladder while in the hammock. Myself i get out of the hammock in good weather but in the cold weather i stay in . Being an older fella i find i lose too much body heat in winter if i get out so i just found a way to stay in with no fuss.

Everything there makes perfect sense except the Kleenex boxxes . ( how crazy can you get )

Here's what I always used in winter , but they changed to a fancy flip top that does not seal 100 per cent (guess how I know ). Id use the Orange juice container but I also use that as a canteen and Im afraid of transbottle confusion .

I love the woods in the middle of the night, more than I dislike getting out of my hammock when nature calls. I used to keep a bottle when I used a tent, but not in my hammock.

As long as you don't lay back down "wet"...job well done I say. Who cares how it got done as long as it was done without infringing on the privacy of others camping nearby.

Well, I don't use one because it seems like it would be as difficult as just getting up and finding a tree, but with more risk. I do know a number of folks who carry Tide (as in laundry detergent) or similar bottles. They cut off the tongue that is used for pouring. The bottles have all that technology in the design to prevent inadvertent detergent spills.

The reason you have to go more while sleeping out is that it is a natural reaction of the body when it starts to get cold to send a message to dump the bilge.

These are angled with a handle.. at the least you may be able to sit up on the side of your hammock and not need to dispose of the contents until the morning.
I wouldn't recommend hanging it on your ridgeline though
