    Hey Rockdawg!

Thank you my friend! (Is the wife getting you any cast iron?)
We'll be thinking of you as Hickery's mountin' up on Ole Fabio! Any bets if he'll make it to 8?
Won't be long and the next class will be preparing for their thru....you joining them? Me 'n Gray Jay will have to surprise you somewhere out on the path. A little trail magic may be due.
We will miss you at MR but understand you like cooking in the warmer climes. Take care and have a Merry Christmas.

Alright folks, Santa's loading his sleigh. I hope you were nice to the Mrs! Maybe that chimney will deliver some nice hammock gear!

Probably just getting a "bag of coal".
No bets on Hickery and Fabio. Most likely it will be so cold that Fabio just stands there waiting for a handout.

No thru for me. God willing, I'll pick up at the James River crossing in VA and head north in early April. Planning to finish this journey this year, but we all know how things change. IF this works out as planned, I have to take off 2 weeks around June 29 to July 9 for my son's wedding in OK, then back to the trail. Trail magic would be great, but I will probably be far to the east of you guys. I should pass Harper's Ferry before end of April and then turn northeast for PA, NJ, and NY. I will have a journal on Trailjournals.com

Merry Christmas again. You should have snow now!!!

    I plan to attend.
I hope Slowhike can meke it, and of course, the girls Lo and Laura.
If I have time, I will mod a Kelty down bag to serve as a top quilt. The K-Mart fleece I used in the fall hang is probably not quite up to the winter hang. I'm still deciding what to bring. Will let y'all know as soon as I figure it out.

Hi Davy Ray, sure looking forward to seeing you again. (Maybe you can help kidnap Ole Tim!) It would be mighty fine to share a campfire with you all again. Nothing more peaceful than the crackle of a fire in the snow quieted mountains.

I know this is a less structured hang, but will there be any organized hikes or activities away from the hang area? Mount Rogers is an awesome area and would love to explore it in the winter. I'm planing on coming by myself so would like to know if others will be interested in hiking, X-country skiing, snowshoeing or whatever the weather allows.

I'm still working on the logistics but am planning to come down from PA on Tuesday and hike/camp ending up at the hangsite on Friday. I'll post a confirmation as soon as I can.
