Well I had taken a break from my DIY addiction to do a little hunting but I had had some request to make a few things for Christmas presents. So I came out of the woods and went to work. I have "orders" for 6 hammocks and 1 under quilt. Two of the hammocks are ripstop from Hanncock and two are 1.9 0z. from rip stop by the roll (one is pictured, the Robin Egg Blue which is gorgeous) and two are table cloth blanks. I ordered straps and buckles from rip stop by the roll and Dutch and made up some 9 inch continuous loops and larks headed/prussick knotted them to the buckles. The under quilt is just some 1.1 oz. coyote brown with polyester batting. Simple design of sewing the batting around the parameter and folding over the edges to create channels for the shock cord. I tested it down to @ 38 degrees for about 3 hours and it seemed plenty warm. I don't have pictures of everything as I am still working on some things. Most of these projects are for teenagers and younger children so ease of set up was a high priority. I hope the kids get half as much enjoyment getting them on Christmas morning as I did making them.
Note: I finish my hammock ends with the folding/whipping method as this is my personal preference. I like the tighter sides. Also, two of the hammocks are for children of a friend of mine who is a die hard Ole Miss fan hence the red with blue whipping.
