NC > Spring Forward @ Yates place in the Uwharrie's of NC 2015 March 6-8

Well happy people, its time to start the thread for the Uwharrie hang at Yates place. I will create a spreadsheet.

This is a very family friendly trip. We usually have great food and fire. We hike, or not. We do some target practice or go for a bike ride.

If you are new to hammocks or a seasoned vet, come on out and enjoy some time in the piney woods. This is a National Forest and as such it is free and we can do as we please. We usually need to bring water and maybe some firewood for the group.

We need to decide if we want to organize food? Breakfast, dinner, lunch or all? Maybe we divide the meals up by letting people cook what they do best? Try to spread it around by having a sign up sheet to make a certain amount of something for each meal? If Hotlips and Kingsford are coming I will let them run the food show.

We are going to be doing a raffle and a secret PIF table so lets be prepared this time.

Although I am posting this anyone willing to help or if you have any ideas feel free to step up. If I forgot anything I will try and fill in the gaps tomorrow.

    Here is the Spreadsheet:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...0E&usp=sharing

They used to have a site specifically for Yates and I could not find it but here is enough info.

    Basic info: Here

    USDA site: Here

    Trail Map: Here

    Area Map: Here

Just in case the weather of last spring repeats I will bring more clothes, rain gear, blankets, etc. Looking forward to Yates.

I hope it was like the fall hang. I am hoping to not have a scout event that weekend. I shouldnt because my son would have bridged into boyscouts the weekend befor, but you never know.

Heaven forbid! Looking forward to the hang.

Wonder if Hotlips will come out of hibernation that early in the spring?

I'm planning on going offroading while I'm out there. I have some extra seats if someone wants to join.

I'm marking it on the calendar, but won't make any decisions until closer to time.
