Ok I have set it up as a winter tarp along with my HHED and Super shelter, and I didn't have to mod anything, which was nice.

Trying to attach the pics that are in my Photos, if not just browse the Guide Gear album in my profile

    My Guide Gear Album

At 1.8 lbs, it is pretty nice. Not like a Cat Tarp , but I definately got more than I paid for in my opinion.

The box came in a 4' x 1' x1' and the label stated 8lbs! Man I was nervous. But it was just the poles and all the packaging.

The tarp compacts down nicely and already has the center tabs ready to deploy into service. In Fact it works great with the Hennessy Snake skins #4 in this picture

I did use a ridge line made of 660 Paracord, until I can get some Amsteel, and used figure 9's to attach, I didn't make it nice and taught for the pictures, mainly becasue I had to hang it high in the garage, but it will definately tighten up. I was very surprised to find that it came with 6 guy lines and tensioners, cheap ones, but they are there and they work.

I think it will work great as a winter tarp as you can see in this picture it has all the room that you'd need.

It also has plenty of room to wing the doors closed and block the wind.

    Just turn your head

Overall, I am happy as I can be with it for the 35$ I spent

I'm convinced! I guess time will tell if the tarp is worth it but at less than $40 it should be easy to get our money's worth. I'm off to order one right now!

Nice looking tarp. Your not hanging from your garage door, are you?

No, not hanging from the garage door, just use the garage door runners for setup and testing, it's quick and easy, and out of the cold and wind so I can take my time. I don't have any big trees in my yard so I have to use this to really hang:

I'll need a decade or more to have tree's big enough to hang from:

I have to add that the guyline tabs can probably use more sewing. IMHO..for each guy point, there is only 2 sew lines to secure it to the tarp.

Not like the typical Square cross sew like you see in the high end tarps. I didn't take a picture, and it's packed away, but if you see the OES tarp at the bottom of the page, he has the guyline strap attached to the tarp with a square and cross stitch:
    OES Mac Cat

This tarp only has two horizontal stitches securing them. Which will work mind you but in a heavy wind it may be a problem or over time.. It works though!!!

Just thought I'd share the area's that this tarp lacks.

I rigged mine with a full ridgeline so that most of the strain of a tight pitch is borne by the line, and not the tarp.
