    'Plumbing Extension'

So, I'll leave all of the inappropriate low hanging fruit out of this post....but I do need to share this transformative piece of kit. I've been using this on a few trips and used it again last night on a colder weather kit check. It was quite windy last night which makes this thing even more awesome.

This is a plumbing extender from the under sink repair section at home depot. It's 18" long, weighs 1.9oz, and is the 1.5in diameter. It was under $2.

One of the great things about my bridge hammock is that, with a little yoga, one can answer nature's call without leaving your quilts. The problem is that windy conditions, or poor planning, can result in urine on your quilts. This device allows for worry free relief and continued warmth....it solves one of the worst parts of colder weather camping.

I'm sure it's been done before...but I wanted to share.

Pretty slick! I can sure see where that, or something like it, would make real cold (and windy) nights spent in the hammock, a whole lot more pleasant.

Just curious....after one use, where do you put it? I don't think I'd be bringing back in the hammock! Maybe a hole with a loop/Dutch Hook to hang off the UQ loops?

I just give it a few taps on the ground and then set it down. Last night I just stuck it in the snow! Not getting up from the warm quilts is a BIG deal.

I prefer to pee standing up. If nature's call also happens to provide me the opportunity to take in a view of the stars, even better.

A personal goal of mine is to delay the need for any device to enable me to pee for as long as possible.

This is a great idea. I guess the key rule here is to make sure it is angled below horizontal so that one does not flood his hammock.

A worthy goal for sure. Next time your clothes are just slightly sweaty from sleeping and cruel north wind is blowing...feel free to join me in the geriatric ward.

    Did we eat yet?

At the rate Dutch is going, I'm confident he'll have a ti member-extender up for sale on his site soon... but that'll be one video of his I might choose to skip!

Uhhhg! What are we coming to?!?
