I made a double layered gathered end hammock out of two of the largest crinkle taffata tablecloths for a dude pushing 400#. He loves it.

It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
I am alittle over 400 lbs, and really trying to lose it but cant seem to and i just had a hammock made for me by Dream Hammocks out of the new Hyper D cabric from Ripstopbytheroll.
I wouls suggest to anyone to just shoot out a private message to Papa Smurf or contact him thru his website at Dream Hammocks and ask him what he thinks,,, let him know your size and budget and see what he says.
Papa Smurf has got to be one of the nicest guys to work with, very knowlegable and i am sure he can build you a hammock that you will love as well as be able to afford..

Maybe use 1/8 inch amsteel whoopie slings and extra strength tree hugger straps. You can use a climbing rated carabiner for your toggle. Welcome and good luck, you're going to enjoy tweaking your rig.
And getting out of the hammock can be aided by using 1/8 inch amsteel tarp ridge line and hammock ridge line. You can use them to pull up to a sitting position and once your feet are on ground just walk backwards in hammock to stand if your hammock was set too low. If your hammock is set high enough then standing up will be easier. Most rigs sag a little after first set up. You can do anything your mind is set to and this will be fun.
Just check with any of the Cottage Vendors on here and I am sure they can help.
Straight out of Clayton.
Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.
I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.
Thanks again guys for the additional info! He's looking at the Kammok Roo with its 500lb weight limit. He's not so worried about the weight of the hammock, probably mostly for car camping with occasional hike.
I do have two of the taffeta tablecloths coming and I'm making my way through the tablecloth thread. If nothing else I'd like to make a hammock with those for me at home.
