1 custom Fiberglass Military Surplus Pole Hammock Stand

Fiberglass military surplus pole stand built by me. This non-conductive stand weighs about 30 pounds and packs down to 48" length. See complete details of the build in forum "Another Version of the Aluminum Surplus Military Pole Stand" starting #167 to #220. It came out pretty good; if you look closely, you can see the top pole is not perfectly straight when assembled. The connections are solid, but one came out slightly misaligned. Very sturdy with my 170 pounds skootching around in the hammock. Top pole can be set up with 132" or 149" length - hang height is 6" adjustable by wrapping a third loop to the Amsteel loop larks head around the pole. $130 + shipping (48"x10"x10" @ 34# from 80526)

No tools needed. Set up is a casual 5 minute affair.

The legs are already fastened together at the top with hardware that pivots to open into a tripod. The leg extensions slide on and hold in place by snap buttons, which push in to release when taking the stand apart. The top pole sections slide together and are held pins you push through and secure with attached retainer clip. I painted a dot code to help match up the joints. The amsteel suspension loop goes up over one leg to hang over the middle nut of the tripod hardware. Hang the top pole by larks heading the loops over the ends of the pole. Then hitch your hammock straps or whoopies around the top pole just past the suspension larks head. That's it.
