    New highhanger from Norway

    Hello everybody.

I just wanted to say hi, and send out a big thank you to all the contributors here. The knowhow and inspiring DIY threads here shure sparked my bushcrafter!

I dont have a whole lot of nights hanging yet (4-5 nights), bought my first hammock last spring, though I have a great deal outdooring before my hammockepiphany, and learning new tricks all the time on how to make my outdoor trips more comfortable and easy. Im a big fan of keeping things simple, inovative and light, and after a peak around this forum I got a bunch of new ideas to my gear. As we speak, a shipment is on its way to me from Dutchware with some Amsteel, Cords, webbing and some others ods`n ends - of course, this forum is my inspiration, and Im planing to make my own suspension, and also considering to make my own asym hammock.

My first hammock is this -

A Dovrefjell Wilderness, complete with bugnet and tarp. The whole thing weighing in to 1 kg!
Im not using any OQ/UQ, i just put a regular foam pad beneath and use my sleeping bag as normal. So far, so good

Wish you all a merry x-mas, and a happy high-hanging new year!
    Cheers

Welcome to the forum! That's a nice looking setup. There's always something new to try out with a hammock. Makes them much more interesting than a tent, and WAY more comfy!

Welcome, the folks here are on top of the hanging world and I am glad to have discovered this great site!
Give me more darkness said the blind man,
Give me more folly said the fool,
Give me stone silence said the deaf man,
    I didn't believe Sunday School.
