Ok all, here is the thread for our first MeetNGreet
Who Any and all Hammock Hangers in the Central Virginia area, or who are willing to travel here!
What A "Meet and Greet," on a saturday afternoon at my place. Just a chance for us to get together, get to know one another, show off our gear, get help with our gear (if we need it) and work on planning our spring hang. If there is enough interest, we may do up an outdoor, "campfire cookin" meal.
Also, if some are interested, I can host a limited number of hangers onsite Saturday night. I have a few acres but it is a rental property and, while the landlord has OK'd me having up to five people there, until she gets used to it, I cannot make full use of the property. I am working on it. LOL
Accordingly, the first five people to post requests on this thread get it. It is your responsibility to have adequate gear for the weather as this will be mid winter.

Where My place at Maidens in Goochland, Virginia. The address is 2707 River Road West, Maidens, Virginia 23102. I am the "cottage" in the back of the property.
How I really wanted to try out a spreadsheet attachment here but I could not get it to work so please post if you are coming and how many in your party. As for a meal? I am throwing that out there, do we want to mess with it? If so, campfire cooking or just a potluck? Y'alls call there folks. I'll go with the flow. I do have a gas grill and a good sized smoker we can use.
Now for the basics. I live in a small cottage so this will be an OUTDOOR event...in JANUARY. Dress accordingly. I mean, folks are welcome to go in to warm up but it is a small...with one bathroom. Just saying.
If you hang Saturday night....The woods have plenty of small firewood, if you want larger, you may want to bring your own but I think you will be ok. There is good water onsite. i have a deep well and the water is filtered.
Other notes; I am right across the James from the Maidens boat landing, if anyone is interested. Also, I am about three miles from the entrance to Powhatan State Park, if anyone wants to take a look at it.
