Dutch Buckles with the strap suspension on WBBB

I was thinking about changing the suspension on my wbbb to make the straps removable. Could I use the same continuous loops that come on the blackbird and the same traps just take the stock buckles out? I know this wouldn't make the suspension any longer or shorter, or lighter for that matter. I mainly want to make the straps removable to keep sap and grime off the hammock body. I can't think of any reasons this would not work but wanted to bounce it off all of you and see what you thought.

I also ordered the Dutch Ti cinch buckles - just order the ones with 8" loops. They go on the WBBB exactly like the stock ones.

I just pulled the straps all the way out of the cinch buckles the one time I noticed sap on them.

This is what I do with my wbbb....On my clark, I have been thinking about sliding cont. loops in the channel ends and looping them over my dutch buckles, like you described.
I know dutch buckles are sort of old school, what with all the new bling coming out but, dang, I like my buckles!
