I know I could cut my own, but . . . . something tells me that buying a full sheet of aluminum for 3 pairs of clips would be way more expensive.

I'm confident they'll do the job just fine...assuming that you hang within the typical 25-30 degree sag angle. The chart I have shows with a weight of 250lbs. in the hammock and a sag angle of 10 degrees to have a force of 709lbs. Our clips tested well over 1100lbs without distortion. PM Dutch for more details on his testing and his opinion if you like.

I tested the clip by trying to break it lifting up to a ton. At 1300 pounds my webbing broke so i figure the clip isn't the weakest link. I'm sure you are OK.
