The message posted, but after about one second, it disappeared. Maybe because I included hammockforum.net it recognized it as spam
I just did the same, but suggested googling Hammock forums (left out .net)

but, as a non-creative type, if hanging increases creativitiy, I might turn into Picasso soon!

    Mesh hammocks

Hi there. I never knew such a community of hammockers existed! I facilitated this project and thought I'd provide a couple thoughts- The hammocks are made from mesh so they are breathable. The mesh was off-spec due to 'streaks' and was donated, along with the webbing. The hammocks were sold for $5 to encourage participation in the hang-out. Excess proceeds from the sale of 170 hammocks was allocated as grant funding for artists to apply for after the event. We funded two projects, one of which is a cello player riding a chair lift during the summer, strumming Bach for hikers to enjoy!

Hi Bland, welcome!!! I actually grew up just south of you in Star Valley and loved the idea behind your project and also the Snaz website, makes me homesick.

How did you come up with the hammock design and how long did it take to build 170 of them?

Cello on the chair lift. Sounds like a band name in the rough.....

Welcome to the forum Bland. Check out the gallery for tons of pics. A lot of the hiking hammocks are made from breathable nylon or polyester. Add a little insulation & a tarp and you will sleep like a baby. You have just found a goldmine of great info. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Welcome Bland. Hope you & others might see fit to check out the many hammock styles you can see on HF.
The DIY hammocks can be pretty inexpensive to make & w/ a little of the right kinds of insulation (& maybe a tarp) you can extend your hammocking time considerably!
I too will something make and joy in it's making
