Place: Saskatchwan Canada.
Where: back yard
(Insert chuckle)
Goal: hang out once each month.
Set up in the back yard. Expecting freezing rain and snow.
I was interested in how much diy under quilt would handle the temp.
Had a couple things that I had to work around. My tarps are longer than the distance between my hanging posts. Took a couple minutes but figured I could rotate my hex tarp to fit.
I was also wondering about how to beat the obvious condensation I was going to encounter. I had chatted with another member who uses a woobie blanket. I decided to do the same.
Result. Beautiful night out. Ear plugs for noise. No condensation at all on the tarp. The ends are open to allow air flow. The woobie blanket had small gaps at the ends to allow some movement too.
Very happy at -7 celcius with crappy weather.
Slept in my army long underwear with long socks. Toasty.
