OK, so I am looking on the Michigan DNR page for the passport. It says "Allow 7 days for delivery of your Non- Resident Recreation Passport. If you plan to visit a park before receipt of your permit, purchase one at the park and not on the e-store." Since we are within the 7 day window, will I be able to get one at the park we will be at, or do i need to stop somewhere on the way?
A friend of mine didn't have the passport and went to a place that required it. The "ticket" he got was just a bill for the passport, the sticker for which he received after paying the bill. Alternately, the ranger will be there, and I'm sure he'd be happy to sell you one in person. So my point is, don't worry about not having one, but be prepared to buy one when you get here.

I take no responsibility for them bringing in a swat team and throwing you in prison in the event that I'm wrong. The good news is that prisons have bars to which you can tie a bed sheet and make a hammock.

Yeah what he said....Anth and I need to determine what to drive......

LSP ranger states that the eastern side of the Cedar loop will be plowed and a total of 12 sites will be plowed for us.

As for the road in, it should be no different than past years.

I'd recommend a snowmobile. Of course, I don't have one, so the Lincoln Town Car it is. Not the best in snow.

They charge us $4 per person per night. So people staing both Friday and Sturday nights, will pay $8. They love us there!

Unfortunately, I must bow out of this adventure. I managed to re-sprain my ankle and can barely walk on level ground. Have a great time and I look forward to the trip report!

It is with much sadness and regret that I must hearby inform you that I will not be able to make the frozen trek north. Accordingly, I now return two trees into general circulation. May your fire be hot, nights cold, and ridgelines tight (but not too tight). Have fun all...
