I'm gonna be paddling in with a 15' old town canoe that I'm pickin up Thursday morning. If the other 2 in my party don't commit, I'll be looking for a paddle buddy in case anyone's interested.

If anyone volunteers to join you, make sure they understand that STANDING IN THE CANOE IS NOT ALLOWED!

Oh, and jumping into the canoe - you might want to stress to them that's also not allowed.

Well, if other idiots are canoeing, I might bring mine. You realize that if you bring a canoe you have to carry all the dutch ovens, firewood, and other stuff that people don't want to hike in, Ron?

As has been done for me in prior camps, I'll gladly paddle in the wares that folks don't wanna hoof into camp. I'm gonna want a rudder man to go with me however. Standing n jumping aboard are standard operating procedures on your boat, why not mine!? ��

I think I'm out on canoeing. I've been waffling on it, but I just don't feel up to the hypothermia right now.

I had a flashback to that Batsto River canoe trip in March. I don't think I've ever been colder than when I came out of that canoe after hours in the rain. I ran straight for my hammock to warm up in downy goodness; you ran for warm beverages.

It's raining and cold here on the Jersey Shore and it reminded me of that.
