New name for the Roan Higher Colder=GNGM Hang (godawful night godforsaken mountain).
Yep heard you 2trees on the chains, dicy getting in and out of Ripshin.
As always with this hang the challenge is getting to Carvers on the road-once there we're good.
Note Poof used my 'summer' weight Insulhammock on this past weekends hang if that says anything about her.
I'm still saving for the 3rd gen Bonefire

Too early for a head count but glad so many are still interested.

Could break the 2011 Inagural H & C Hang attendance record. So the offical dates are FEB 20-22?

Maybe this is the year we will do the Hampton Creek Trail AFTER a water stop at Overmountain.
Me personally won't be staying at Overmountain which reckons a recall to the stalwart efforts of one Brother Bones in quelling the yackel which
for some reason (exhaustion) I didn't hear which leads to a HUGE thanks to those who carried our backpacks up from the parking to Overmountain.
But even considering that who cannot say that the 2014 Higher Colder wasn't a treat!
Since this is the 5th we should do something special....thoughts?
Maybe a polar beat plunge into the pond on top of RHK ??

Also noted Wisenber hasn't chimed in....what's up with that...Bob's DairyLand needs him to stay in business

and when Poof and I were up this weekend we paid homage to the Wisenber Trees-always and duly noted in the annals of history as the trees that almost held a dead man! 'Ber if you read this know we love you and
say this only in testament to the vagaries of the higher gods and who they chose and when....glad it wasn't you then.

And a thought on the long distance travelers considering this event. HNO, Ragnall, GrapeNut, others....you have paid your dues and can with honor wear the t-shirt; but for others I can only scratch my head as to why people would drive so far to suffer HA!
In that vain I'll do a Doctari and remind that though it is only 1.5 miles from Carvers it is possible that those 1.5 miles can be an eternity....heck it took Poof and I almost 2 hours to get to RHK this past weekend; and blink your eye and Carvers can only be passable by serious military machinary. Odds of that based on past Higher and Coler Hangs is small, but it is a possibility.
In that vain some of us who leave vehicles at Carvers stock them with food/fuel just in case we have to wait a day for the DOT to etch out an escape route.
