FYI-Red Zing It and Loop turning tool.

Couple of comments on these two items- First, don't expect the red line to stay red long. I have only used it to make a ridgeline and a couple of loops which I've used just in the backyard and some parts have already turned pale pink. As a matter of fact, when I was splicing the line, my hands started turning pink just from working with the line. No big deal, but when this spool runs out, I'll be going with the yellow. The loop turning tool is just a bit too big to easily splice the Zing-It. I'm sure it'll work great when I need to splice larger lines, but don't buy one just for the small stuff.

I don't intend this post to be a knock on Dutch because his products, videos, and customer service are all fantastic and I'll be placing another order this weekend, but just thought someone would like to know before they consider buying these items.

FWIW, the color on all of the dyneema based rope/cords like zing it and amsteel is in the urethane coatings and quickly wears on all of them. The darker the color (red), the more you notice it.

+1 I have a few different brands and they all fade the same.

thanks for the info everyone. Since the Red was my first experience with a dyneema product, I didn't know. I still think a faded yellow or gray would look better than the pink.

Is the gray/silver the base/normal color of the line? - haven't seen any color change on my line but it's all gray.

They grey/silver is more similar to the natural color of a fiber. You'll probably notice the color lighten, and the interior fiber's are noticeably lighter than exterior fiber's (may be more visible in area's with a bury)

This has been my experience as well. I made a soft shackle out of the red zing-it and it wasn't red by the time I finished. I made a batch of 30 yellow ones and my fingers were stained nicely afterwards.

Getting the splicing tool through it can take some finesse that's for sure.

That's the reason I buy Lash-It. It has no color. So no fading. Plus, I just can't do loud colors.

I just received 2 of those 25ft sections of the red zing-it. They are pretty much pink already, straight out of the bag. I'm just gonna tell people that I am supporting breast cancer awareness!! I think they will look great in contrast against my all black setup. Well they aren't as pink as that color in this post. More red than that...
