    DIY Hammock stand

    Greetings.

I'd like to set up my hammock on my outside deck. I'm on the third floor of a 100-year-old house, with nothing above me, but no trees or sturdy posts tall enough to hang any of my hammocks.

I've seen the links to the adjustable hammock stand and read up on several DIY posts.

Before I make a choice, I'll take any feedback from more experienced hammock stand users.

    Thanks.

I have on in my backyard almost like this but mine is just a 12 footer with no adjustment for lenght. It works OK, but flexes a lot and leans to one side a lot, but it works. I put a pipe extension on one end to bring one end about 8 inches to a foot higher on one end. The high end would be used on the foot of a conventional hammock and on the head end of a bridge. It makes it work a lot better that way in my opinion. Hope this helps a little JJ.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

I recently built this. I'm hanging in it right now It works well enough, but it is still young. A simple enough project, if you have a few tools to work with.

Me likes the adjustable stand. That is nice. Looks like it can be taken apart for storage nicely as well. Might make a good addition to State/National Park camping too. Now just have to find a way to convince the other half that we in some way need it.
