    Mitten-hook / shockcord knot?

Any recommendations for a good knot to use when attaching a mitten-hook to shockcord for a tarp door application?

Standard figure 8 knot has always worked for me.

I like the simple overhand loop-quick easy and you can dress it down to where you need it. I'm not sure if it a "proper"choice but it seems to work well.

It's probably the only one I know how to tie consistently, other than a square not. Haha you'll see it on a ridiculous amount of my suspension and riggings

lol I'm a bowline fan as well but my brain overheats when I try to tie it with something in the loop. It throws me off. I'm special like that.

I was messing around with this last night. I posted some pics on the HF facebook site. I basically made a loop and tied a basic overhand knot with that, so it holds the mitten clip while also leaving a 1/2" loop for putting over a stake or whatever. I really like this setup!
