In my old job I sometimes had to wear a tyvek cleanroom suit it was soft and quiet as cotton.
If you are using house wrap tyvek that can be pretty noisy and stiff.

Where could you buy "soft" tyvek for a ground sheet. I was looking at several posts and vendors recently, but this is the first I've heard of soft tyvek.
Also, anyone tried tyvek and polycro and like one over the other? I read somewhere that tyvek can be tough to get dirt and debris off of it, but I think it must be stronger to puncture, e.g. pine needles, than the polycro.
Polycro is lighter but harder to clean or so I have read. Most things shake off of tyvek when it is dry. When it is wet though I find it very hard to get all the little bits of debris off. I always use one side up and fold that side in first. My buddy the ground dweller uses tyvek for a footprint and has no issues. He does the same as me and just folds the dirty side in.

Washing is the way to go! One thing to be aware of; until it's washed and faded, the colorful printing on the tyvek will come off when wet, dying anything it touches.

Yes - it is house wrap. I have used a visqueen sheet for years but I know how tough tyvek is - and it is light - so I thought I'd try it. I was surprised at how noisy it was and as you've read - it should quiet down after some washing and use. I also noted the warning that the blue coloring on the name will come off or at least run on the first washing so I'll not include white towels - just the Tyvek and some old tennis shoes. We've read about soft Tyvek and I recall people working with fiberglass wear a tyvek-ish jump suit. But a source, in sheet form, of that softer tyvek has yet to appear.

A couple months ago I was considering trying to stir up interest in a group buy for a roll, but I got discouraged by the complexity of cutting it squarely, shipping it out to people, and the prospect of being stuck with a lot left over (and trying to slowly get rid of it via For Sale or PIF).
If you want to take that ball and roll, roll, roll with it, I'd be in for some.
It's probably not the cheapest, but I just ordered "Tyvek 43gsm 1443R Kitemaking Material" (60" wide) online with Prime shipping. As DM's link states, it's softer and all white (without printing), and is used for Tyvek clothing. It is not your housebuilder's Tyvek by all reports, but I'm not sure how it compares to washed house wrap Tyvek. There were cheaper options, but this one was Prime, i.e. free 2-day shipping, and the size was to my liking for a replacement tent footprint plus a ground cloth or two for under hammocks.
