Hey everyone Noobie from Green Bay WI

I just wanted to say Hi to everyone, your site has all the info that anyone could want, thanks for that.

I found your site by looking up Winter camping and found Shugs videos on youtube... That guy is a gas... made for TV Shug, you really are.

I was also looking for lightweight tents, and overall general survival stuff and found a great deal on the Hennessy Explorer Deluxe, which really fit all the criteria that I was looking for in a tent and a bivy, so I bought two of them. I expect to have them by Friday.

I see some very elaborate setups here, and frankly feel somewhat inept being a noobie, but as a fast learner, I think I can get up to speed very quickly.

I am reading all that I can on a better attachment solution ratcheting slings etc.. and a freestanding solution in the event of tree's being unavailable, or just use it as a bivy.

I love camping and have a very large Popup for when I have the whole family going, but with the hammock scenario, I can bring it along with my popup or take it by itself via backpack with just me and my son.

I just wanted to say hi, and let you all know that you have a great community here (which you probably already knew) and a plethora of information that I'll be spending the next few weeks studying. I have a planned trip on the 21st of this month and am excited to setup in my backyard this weekend to begin the testing.

If you ever happen to have an extra ticket to a Packer game let me know. The only bad thing about living in Colorado is the Denver games get aired, I only get to see a few Packer games a year.

    Direct TV

I switched to Comcrap when I moved back to Colorado. One year and I've had enough; I'm going back to Direct TV. For small change, I get to see whatever pigskin game I want. Good thing because I dislike the Donkeys more than I dislike sleeping on the ground.
