Good to hear! You've answered my Q's perfectly.

Good to hear! You've answered my Q's perfectly.
If bulk is the issue, maybe replacing the two part UQ with a HG incubator econ UQ would save 20-30%. Not sure though as I can't see the actual packed dimensions of these two stuff sacks. Check it...
Q's
1) Is it seam sealed, if so, by UGQ or self?
2) Is it silpoly or silnylon? Guessing silpoly by the weight.
2) Mention a CRL, my eyes aren't great so I might be wrong, the pictures seem to...
Looks like a great time without any worry about noisy neighbors! Hate to ask, 'cause I just looked at that tarp online, have you had that tarp out in an extended rain before? It's hard to ignore...
Since Tensa offers two different length of boom stakes I have to ask, is that the longer 40cm long stake? If not, and that's the 30cm one, I'm amazed it held with so little underground. But, I...
(Red = head, Black = foot)
Finally got the time to attach these to my WBRR. Because I've got the newer model I had to drill out the holes using a 1/4" bit to make the spreader bar endpoints fit...
I've found that using a WB Ridgerunner with a Tensa Solo put the tarp too low to make getting in and out of very comfortable. So I reached out to Cheryl and we tossed a couple ideas around, here is...
Plus 1 on this, have the same thing set aside in my gear, I use it primarily as a ground sheet when tenting, but could easily see using one to augment a tarp or use on its own (or a larger one made...
I sleep absurdly cold, or I like to be absurdly warm, could be both are true.
For me, my 20F kit is good to around 40F. If forecast to be below upper 30s, I will switch out my 20F UQ for the 0F...
Rain will always follow your suspension under the tarp, I'm wondering if you managed to get the drip lines under the tarp as much as possible to make them as effective as possible. I target around a...
Same Q as above - what is the down fill type? Any interest in trade?
I found the biggest improvement in my hammock comfort at cold nights to come from improving my underquilt. My vote is for the underquilt, you can always toss a Costco down quilt or two inside the...
Both those ideas look great, but, if you want to sling it on the outside of your pack, don't you want to use a fabric that is waterproof? Or could you just use a packliner inside of the stuff sack? ...
As a stylish way of making your gear your own it looks great! With poor night vision I get all of my quilts, UQs and hammock bodies made with light colors so I can see things like socks and a...
Agreed, I only run silpoly and silnylon, but, believe in a "not sloppy" pitch vs a "super tight" approach. I have shock corded all the ground tie outs and pull the stake lines only as tight as...
It was yellow "lash-it" with a detachable tension hook. Agreed, will not use Zing-it or Lash-it with linelocs again, too much slippage.
I'm going on 3 days, been raining so much I haven't been able to get it out and use it. Going to let it breath tomorrow in the house, run it in the dryer on fluff cycle and then hang it in the gear...
Was hunting for some merino lightweight baselayers, but, now I'm going to see what the price difference is and take a look at silk
Yup, I've got the Tensa Solo for car camping, and I keep telling myself that I've got to get some spare non-stretch cordage and make up a simple ridgeline as a setup aid. I'm sure it would save at...
I've also got a 12' HG Journey, it also has slipped on me once or twice. I have linelocs connecting to beasty D's. Since then I've done two things and not had problems in some pretty serious rain...

Never ran into that problem. I've had them climb my ridgeline and such, but, never chew. I wonder if there is some residual salt or food on the materials? Couldn't hurt to rinse your next pair off...
Had run ins with staff at Yellow River and Palisades about attaching things to trees. Pinicon Ridge I didn't think had hammock friendly trees in the camping areas, been there with a trailer before,...
Going to put that one on my list, I will be traveling to Madison this summer a couple of times, maybe I'll put an overnight at Wyalusing.
Just a little bit jealous, just returned from a trip to Colorado. Love the Rockies.
Back to web browser after trying Tapatalk - even with the upgrade Tapatalk subscription it is still is a pain to use.
Any chance you could toss a Google map or address in the thread? Born in Wisconsin, living in Iowa, I've no idea where this is and might make the trip if I knew where to go...
That does have some trees on it. Could use a tensa solo to camp out there eh?
I've recently completed a Cedar Ridge 0 degree UP matched set. Haven't been able to test it yet. Quality looks good though.
Note: They were having trouble getting fabric at the time, and this...
What are the lengths of the two pieces of each strap (strap and whoopie)? Asking for a friend.... ;-)
Brilliant execution on that zippered UQ. I'd be curious to learn what the weight of just the hammock is (knowing that you asked for a two layer). Actually, what I'm really curious about is what the...
Just got these in the mail today. I won't be able to put them on until after the 4th of July unfortunately, but looking forward to using them. Fugal buttons for the...
Yup, I live in Iowa. Sadly the corn just isn't strong enough to hang from, and the hiking, it is shall we say "limited". Most of my hanging is in the back yard, locally in county and state parks,...
The name is meant to imply that I am an older person, past middle age, who likes getting out exploring and hiking.
Great to hear! Coming soon means (days, weeks, months)?
Technically, a 0-tree hang. One of the fake trees is the Tensa Solo.

BTW, I'm not in that weight class, more of a middle weight. but I've used a 3 section setup for several years with no noticeable bowing at all and it stows in the trunk of my compact car easy.
I'm thinking it will. Remember the top rail is mostly for the force in compression horizontally not vertically.
I've always used chain link fence top rails for that. If you get a couple off them and cut them right you can have a three section top rail that stows away easily when you don't need it.
Of course!
A few years ago I was within an hour or so of the northern border with Iowa, near the Mississippi, was told that absolutely nothing could be hanging from the trees, can't recall the location or if it...
Going to remember that phrase, haven't heard it in years. Thanks for the info, I'd hate to have to buy new gear because I was too trusting and left my stuff out on display while away on a hike. For...
DRAT! This is exactly the thing I was referencing. Glad you posted it because there are several other items (including the buttons) that he makes that I definitely want to purchase. I'm going to...
Nice idea, I'd like to spread the force out a bit more than that one shown, I'll see how wide they go and maybe give them a try.
I like the simplicity and DIY of this. I've got one of the newer models, so, no hardware to tuck up against. I'll experiment and see what works.
Looks great! What's the spacer you are using between the poles to keep them from rubbing? Are you using the same thing on the bottom (foot) ends as well?
I've got a WBB RR and love the thing. However, what I don't "love" is how the ends of the spreader bars on the RR rub against my tarp in a heavy wind when I pitch the tarp tight (even with spreader...

I missed the part about trucking stuff in the first time I read this, laughed when I saw the tote box under the tarp. I've not thought of using an "alternate cheap tarp" and leaving it up while out...
From the Amok website: https://amokequipment.com/a/faq#Sleepingpads
