I’m gonna brave the heat and head out Fri after work as well. Gonna come in from the West side, the “Juniper Praire Wilderness camping access” on FR 76 & 33. Should be heading in by 5p so there by 6p.
Decided to make a tarp
Still looking :)
I’m looking for an ultralight 6’x9’ tarp. Ideally .51 dcf or 7D silnylon but I’d consider .93 silpoly too. Should be 6-8oz. No “gaudy” colors plz :) Been playing/testing UL tarps and have settled on...
I’ll take it. I’ll shoot you a PM for pymt info
Cut it down... 12” off the bottom and brought the angles in to the same dimensions based on the instructions. Probably just a shade tighter than would be optimal, but it’s not “too tight” still...
Just made my first Fronkey bugnet and overall think it came out great!
One big issue though... why is it hanging SO LOW below my hammock? This is a WB Traveler (10' hammock, 101" RL) and its hung...
Thx for clarification on the rules Deb! I definitely hadn’t caught that you’re not allowed to do that.
To any who apparently referred me to somewhere I may be able to buy what I’m looking for but...

Ah cripes... I was hoping, having said I or my buddy would likely take it, you’d at least defer to me for 24hr. My buddy decided he wanted this but I haven’t had a chance to get online until now......
I’ve got a buddy who would be super interested. Ill check w/ him and if he doesn’t want it, I may buy anyway.
What color is the hex tarp? Also, looking at HH website, I don’t see an Explorer...
I actually just ordered material to make one since there was no response here or at another site I’d also posted. Thx for the reminder!
Looking for a lightweight warm weather underquilt. Ideally would be a 50F 3/4 length made of 2.5 Apex climashield insulation and ultralight fabric. Shooting for sub-10oz total weight. Don’t care much...
Thanks to COVID-19, my wife’s schedule has cleared up, so I won’t need to watch our little guy... and can def go Fri & Sat night now. I’ll hike in from Pats Island TH. I’d do Juniper if I wasn’t...
I’ll be shooting to head there Fri straight from work. Might only be able to swing Sat though pending family obligations... should be able to get at least one night.
Yes O-Boy, I’ll be there. Just packed all my stuff as I’ll be leaving straight from work tmrw. I checked out the Google satellite and see the “tricky” part you mentioned. Shouldn’t be too bad. Very...
Id love to go. Can’t say I’ll be there for certain yet, but gonna try for sure!
Is the hang right at 471 (the link posted above) or is that just the trailhead? I’ll be working until at least 4 so...
I know you already have a campsite, but To wbJohn (in case you change your mind) and others who may need the option. Haven’t been here long, but I live in Ocala and work literally 5 minutes from Doe...
NIIICE! I’ll be there for most of the time!
I’ll possibly be able to win the shortest travel award! I work literally ~8 min away so will come straight there from work :) The wife and our 4yo boy...
Nice setup @kquest! A wide open basements/ support posts like that is about as good an indoor setup as you can ask for. I grew up outside Chicago and loved having a basement :) lots of fun times! No...
Oh man... so sad I'm not going to be able to make this. I was really looking forward to a the fall ONF hang to get to meet some of the other FL hangers. But I'll be in Hawaii on a big family...

Cripes... just noticed the sticky about indoor hanging... oops. Will have to read thru that
On a similar note to the recent “backyard hang” post... What unique ways do you hang inside?

Found a set! Thanks for the offers!
Thanks Floridahanger! We're in temporary housing in Ocklawaha currently but will be in Ocala permanently. Glad to hear there is a lot of hanging activity right in my backyard! I'll def keep an eye...
Good morning all from the wet wild world of Central FL!
