Buying a new hammock next week. Trying to decide double layer or single layer.
In the market for a new hammock. Had my old hammock for a while and forgot how many options there were. So my question is what sets the blackbird apart. Looking at the xlc in particular. Not looking...
So been hammocking for a while now. I feel like I know what I am doing for the most part. So here is the thing. My hammock has developed a stretch. I have poly straps and a cinch buckle system.i have...
I think you should pull the trigger. I bought two of those kits for my kids and they love them. I have a ton of HG gear and I would feel confident in using the stuff I bought my kids.
That's awesome I haven't had any issues with any hg product's in the past. Lord knows I have enough of them lol. I'm glad to hear that about the daisy chain.
So I just took the kiddos out to teach them how to hang their new wanderlust systems.
99% of the kit I think hammock gear hit out of the park..
It's great. I have never seen one of their zippered...

I tried uploading pictures but I don't think it worked right.
I plan on it. I don't know who is going to be happier me or them. Lol
My two oldest children have been camping forever and are dabbling in backpacking. They have discovered they don't like sleeping in tents. So this morning I pulled the trigger on two wanderlust kits....
Just got back from a winter camping trip.
Temps got down to 14 according to my weather app.
So my new gear was my 0 degree top quilt and my underquilt protector. My new ish gear was my journey...
Wondering if michigan is doing any hangs anytime soon. Been trying to get up to green timbers for the past couple years and it hasn't worked out. If I had property I would try to set something up .
Mail must be back on track. My order shipped on the 14th we got it today. Fantastic quilt I might add. I can't wait to use it. I have a small trip at the end of the month. The mail man on the other...
I'm sure the mail will be on track once things settle down again
Wifey showed me the email and order number for my zero degree top quilt and she got me an underquilt protector as well. She was upset they won't be here for Christmas. I made sure to assure her it...
I have the gear sling. It works great.
I was just poking around DH web site and I seen a gear hammock. It looks like the perfect answer for having gear on the ground. Site says it only weighs 2.8 oz I was wondering if anyone has any...
What was uncomfortable about the bb?
I would say to get one with doors. They weigh more but you are protected from pretty much all weather. Earlier this summer I was on a trip that the wind was so bad it was almost impossible to stay...
I currently have a dream hammock Raven. I love that hammock. But I'm thinking of getting something new.
I'm looking at the dream hammock sparrow and the bb xlc. If anyone has any ideas or pros and...
I have a 40 degree set from HG and a 0degree underquilt from them as well I use my 0degree all the up to the 30's and down to below zero.
I used a roman ventures tarp for a while
It was 13 ft long. Not the smallest or lightest
But at 20 bucks it was a pretty great tarp.
It came sealed and taped. And kept the wind and rain out.
I have the original journey and I can say without a doubt that's a great tarp. I don't know much about the journey II tarp. But the original will handle anything thrown at it.
Good to know
Would that titanium mitten hooks from hammock gear be strong enough to hold the Ridgeline for a tarp
If you stay at benchmark it's a little tricky. Beaver creek I had no problems at all. I seen a few people with rec hammocks while up there.
Chesapeake I have almost the same problem only thing not hammock gear is my hammock
We were at benchmark with the day campers
Did 20ish miles of the lake shore trail. And I have to say it was a very nice hike. The only problem we had was at one campsite.( Camp sites need to be reserved) It was taken by mostly car campers...
I got my journey in the mail. Received sooner than expected. I got it completely dialed in and ready for my trip of the lake shore trail in August.
I was using a continuous ridge line.
Never used a split line before. I tried it tonight it worked great. Thanks
I just got my new HG Journey and it has line lock s instead of D rings. The problem is I don't see how they work for a ridge line. I can see how they work for guy lines, but the ridge line has me...
I have had my dream hammock Raven for years. I have not had a bad night's sleep yet. I camp in all weather winter included. You can't go wrong.
Well hammock gear products haven't failed me yet
This is going to be for my new tarp suspension. I'm pretty excited.
What is everyone's experience with alien loops?
I might be duplicating this a little bit but, I am looking for the good and bad in the hammock gear journey tarp.
I just pulled the trigger on one I'm hoping it turns out to be a good investment.
I just pulled the trigger on a journey. What are some of the good and bad you guys can tell me about it.
So I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of people using ugq quilts lately. They are plastered all over YouTube and other sites. I have always used hammock gear products and am still very happy...
Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new tarp.
Looking for feed back from anyone with experience with it.
Like the title says ugq winter dream 12 looking at possibly getting the pole mods with it...
You wont find one right in traverse but there are campgrounds about 20nto 30 miles outside of town in pretty much any direction you go. One of my favorites is Baxter bridge . Its listed as manton but...
My girlfriend took a spill early the first day so ended up staying a 8A but she did finish the mrt side. It was her first real backpacking trip so I would call it a win .
I'm pretty sure we all have a ridge line organizer of some kind. A little while back I bought a gear sling from dream hammock. Holy crap I finally got to use it on a trip. It holds so much stuff. And...
You guys have made this choice a lot easier thanks.
It was a very busy weekend. As was to be expected. The people were very nice out there which was good. Not a lot a trash. There tends to be in some spots on that trail for whatever reason. The trail...
Lol I have my own set up. We are working on the kids as they are taking an interest in backpacking. No one really Likes tents in my family we use them car camping as a necessary evil for the little...
