The strap Dutch sells also weighs less. Dutch-2.0 grams per foot, Myerstech-2.4 grams per foot.
There is also a listing on Ebay for a 30' strap....

I love Hexon 1.0!
Go figure, I just bought some dyneema straps from Myerstech less than 2 weeks ago. Guess I can wait to see what other colors Dutch comes out with.
I know. It was a regular quilt set I ordered, just bustin' George's chops a bit there. :)
4 Days?? Order placed Feb. 10th, still waiting.... lol :D

So tragic. Condolences to family and friends.

Around the 10 min mark he explains how to stake out the hammock. You may need to make the "V" longer or use more stakes depending on the type of soil.
My condolences to family and friends.
Thanks Goobie, Karla. I'll look into those. :)
Anyone know of a good camp ground in the Neillsville area? I was thinking of going to the High Ground War Memorial for Memorial Day, but have never camped in that area before.
I use this Thermarest pad.

The only difference between Zing-it and Lash-it is the color. Zing-it is yellow or red, Lash-it is grey.
I like 1.75mm Lash-it/Zing-it. There are a few brands of reflective cords that are pretty popular too.
Good to hear. Glad they are taking care of it for you. :)
I don't like daisy chain straps, but if I had to use some I would use these.

That is one delicious looking Easter egg. Apparently the Easter Bunny forgot to put one in my basket... or he ate it!!!!
You could contact EE, see if they can do something for you. Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck.
This ^^^^^^
Thanks everyone!!! I had lots of fun at my first hang. Lots of good food. Can't wait to do it again.
I'll be there around noonish. I have a few pounds of smoked salmon I am bringing.
Check these out, 8x warmer than sheep's wool. I have not tried these out yet because of the price, but I would love to try them someday. Until then I will stick with my Darn Tough socks, I won't...
I can't stay for camping, but I may swing by to go hiking. What time are you planning on going?
+1 I love mine. Soft, light and very comfy.

Why take that heavy thing, 50cc moped FTW!!!
With all the warm weather we have had I have been out on the IAT everyday since Friday. Some areas are pretty muddy but still nice to get out there. Just a fyi the ticks are out already. I found 1...
Thanks for posting this. I would love to be there to give back, as I hike the IAT at least every weekend. I have not as yet signed up, I need to find someone to watch my dog for me before I can...
I believe the eider duck down is collected from their nests, not harvested off the birds, so should still be available, but very expensive. Although everything I thought I knew about down was wrong,...
While I do not own either, I believe the fill power of the down should not change the size, only the weight. The higher fill power down takes up more space so less is needed to stuff a quilt, thus...
I have not tried these yet but they do look interesting for throwing into a storage bag with your quilts....
Thanks for posting this, love to learn new ways to hang. However, I think I still prefer the becket hitch. YMMV.
Awesome!!! Hope you and your son have an excellent time together! Enjoy your trip and stay safe out there. You'll have to give us a field report on your new LLG quilt. I just ordered a LLG TQ and...
+1 If its over 75 I don't leave the house unless its absolutely necessary. Give me 20* weather over 80*+ anytime. Its easy enough to throw on an extra shirt and pants when cold, but there are only...
Thanks Jellyfish. Good info you got there. It's a shame your post got deleted. I have never seen a forum with such strict topic policing in the general discussion section.
I just ordered a TQ and UQ yesterday. I too do not want to think about the 3.5 month wait I have ahead of me. I will probably wear a hole in the carpet pacing in anticipation on delivery day!
You could always store your UQ in an old pillow case. Or Hammock Gear sells cotton storage sacks for around $15 I believe.
I generally don't care for camo, unless it's multicam. I love multicam on just about everything. Other than that, I prefer the more tacticool, earthy colors like od, fde, coyote tan/brown. I'm not...
Yeah, that was the best part of the vid. I LOLed good on that one.
That's terrible AdventureMyk. At least you got your package the same day, living so close to the terminal must be kinda nice. I get that the drivers want to get done and go home, but do your job!! ...
I prefer delivered at front door. Glad to see I am not the only one who eagerly awaits packages. I once waited all day for a UPS package, only to have the truck drive right past my house without...
Yes, so long as we never forget the lesson that Green Bean taught us, his death will not be in vain. It was, however, a high price to pay to learn that lesson.
The Rip Heard 'Round the World. An infamous and dark day for the hammock camping community. R.I.P. Greenbean. :crying
That is awesome!!! Very nice.
I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I make it a Dos Equis. Sorry couldn't stop myself.
Just weighed the 3/8" mule tape. 1 foot weighs .09575 ozs or 2.713 grams.
[QUOTE=DuctTapeMessiah;1724713]I haven't had any problems with the Becket Hitch so I've found no reason to learn the J Bend.

For those on a budget, that can't, or don't want to spend so much on 30' of Kevlar straps, you can use mule tape from the CL to your Kevlar tree straps. I just got 50' of 3/8" MT for $7.13 delivered...
