Woot has the Yukon Outfitters stuff onsale again, also found an Esbit solid fuel/alcohol cook kit for $27.
I just got the Chinook 12x9 from Amazon, tried it out last weekend and it worked great over my SBPro.

Still a relative noob myself, but I went with the Grand Trunk when I started last year and have been on 2 official outings with it, plus a few nights in the back yard, I personally think that it was...
I hope to get out to Mohican State park a little North of Columbus this Saturday, this would be only my second trip that wasn't just in the back yard. Want to test out my New Yukon Outfitters top...
Here is the Snugpak Topquilt that Speed was referencing.
In case it wasn't clear, the footbox is closed off with a length of velcro with snaps at the end of the velcro, thought I would mention that.
I personally think that it is worth it at $50, other than the sack the quality is great.
Since you aren't to the point of counting ounces or cubic millimeters in your pack I think that you would...

That is for the TQ, the Kindle UQ weighs in at 1.8LBS as per Yukon's site.
I will see if I can get to it so I can get it out of storage tonight or tomorrow for some pictures.
Edit: In the meantime though, Yukon's site has a few more pictures to give you a better idea...
I got one on a past woot sale, I haven't been able to give it a full overnight test yet, but it seems like it is well made and warm, Two things that I don't really like about it are the packed size...
First of all, welcome to the forum!
I don't think that the 20 degree UQ would be much overkill at all, it will provide you a few extra degrees on the cold nights and you can just open up the ends...
I wish I could, looking to get out there sometime soon myself, but it wont be tonight. Hope you have a great night out though!
Hey, welcome to the forums from Cleveland!
I went with a Gregory 55L pack and it is able to fit my gear great with some extra room to spare. Best thing to do would be to go to any outdoor store near you, best would be REI with a huge...
I was just wondering this exact thing myself, so I will give this a bump.
Hey fellow Clevelander welcome to the forums!
I haven't ever thought of using something like that crazy creek chair to be used as a foot pad, but it makes sense to me, multi-use items are always a...
Just picked up a Yukon Outfitters Walkabout on Woot for $16 a week ago, but it can be had right now for $36 on amazon. Not as much coverage for wind as other options but if there isn't anything more...
I am in the Cleveland area and have hung at Mohican last year, which I really enjoyed, but I wanted to try to see if there was anything else in the area that I could try.

The deal made me sign up for an account, grabbed a TQ/UQ pair and a mosquito hammock for my fiance. Looking forward to trying them out in the spring.
I just noticed the size of the mosquito hammock is shy of 9', if I would have seen that earlier I would not have gotten it, but seeing that this is primarily for my 5'3 gf do you think she should be...
Went ahead and got the pair also, I will let you know how they are, also picked up the backup/tag-along mosquito hammock while I was at it
Any one know the weight on the underquilt? real tempted to pull the trigger on this as my first UQ, if I do I will probably grab the mosquito hammock as a backup/tag-along hammock
Edit:

I probably could have posted this somewhere better here but I didn't know where, so mods if it would be better else where please move it.
I am currently just using a cheap wally-world 1" sleeping...
That looks and sounds great! What did you use to make it and where can I find the plans that you used? I am really interested in taking a look making one for myself
This is a great listen! Couldn't have had a better first guest than our own local celebrity.
Going to give this a subscribe, keep up the great work.
Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. Thanks for the replies.
Hey Hangers!
I am relatively new to the hammock scene and I am currently using the Grand Trunk Tree Slings as my suspension.

Thanks for the reply, I actually just had the bladder hung there because it was the most accessible place to hang it. I didn't have it there to be able to drink out of while in the hammock, but now...
Thanks for the welcome!
Hey Hangers,
Just wanted to post about my hang this weekend at Mohican State Park in OH, I have read quite a few people have been to site 9 or 10 over there but I was at site 2 and it was a good...
Hey Hangers!
New guy in NE Ohio, I have been a lurker for a while here and just completed my first hammock camp out this past weekend at the Mohican park, site #2. My current set up is a Grand...
