Just curious why you are tearing apart such a great piece of gear? I have the 700, and I'd rather lose an appendage than have something happen to that thing. It's so versatile!
I love Rim Rock, so I am definitely in! Going to bring some climbing gear if anyone else is interested in doing that as well.
Sold to JmBoh pending funds!
Selling a perfect condition full-length winter Lynx for the Ridgerunner. Moving on from hammocks to other activities, so don't need it laying around. It has never been exposed to smoke or pets. Used...
I mean, I CAN sew or poke holes, but I'm weary about voiding any warranties.
That's not a bad idea. If the shock cord is nice and tight on the pull-outs, it could work nicely. Thanks!
Has anyone come up with an easy way to put a ridgeline on the Ridgerunner INSIDE the bugnet? "Easy" as in, no sewing or poking holes through anything. Yes, yes, I know the saddlebags are there. But,...
Sure, my gf has a bright orange Incubator and yellow hammock. People pick what they like. (Even if I told her 10,000 times that orange and yellow don't match...sigh) I was just stating that my...
The Lynx fits the Ridgerunner like a glove. There is no need for any adjustments, it is just clip-n-go. I've never felt the lack of color options was an issue, because everything matches from their...
What fabric?
That is very light. If only I had a single gram of sewing skill in my body!
Thanks OandB, I have been looking hard at that UL. Do you think a WB Lynx underquilt would fit on that, being that the...
I am 5'10" and 150 lbs. So, just about the same stats as you. Not sure how my lay direction came about. Honestly, I think I just got in the first time, and that is where I settled. I'm going out...
Because it adds right around a pound of weight, compared to a light gathered end setup. It's the double layer, but it's only a 2.5 ounce difference between the single and double. The BMBH UL is about...
It's a fixed ridgeline, but I'll give it a shot. My knees aren't the issue with the Dutch, just the ENO. And the ENO will never be used again.
The plastic tie that gathered the ends when it came in the mail? Yeah, those came off instantly and were replaced with continuous loops.
Well, I'm giving gathered ends one last shot. I started with an ENO Doublenest, which, obviously didn't last long. There was a massive amount hyper-extension happening behind my knees. Then I went to...
I don't use this, but if you're a skiddish one it may bring you some peace of mind.

When you get out of the shower, and can't tell if you're still wet or already sweating, it's an East Coast problem.
The 11' Fronkey is a great choice. Give your new baby some breathing room, instead of squishing her with the 10 footer.
I don't have any issues laying in the hammock. It provides a breeze that is hard to get elsewhere. It's the dang hike to my destination that is the issue. Is summer over yet?
Just received my Hexon 1.0 a few hours ago. Switched to a Ridgerunner after only trying an ENO, and swore off gathered ends for good. Gave this Dutch a try, and I almost cried from the comfort. Enjoy...
Thanks for putting this together! I'll have at least one other companion, by the way.
I am 100% in!
Welcome from Warren, Pa!
Those should be drip lines to prevent rain from running down the dogbones and getting tour hammock wet.
Glad you got it figured out. Warbonnet offered to replace mine, so I'm sure they will do the same for you. I turned them down though, because a kind stranger on this forum offered to send me a...
The dogbones are the Amsteel lines running from where your spreader bars are connected, to your suspension. The thin grey line.
Right, I know the 30° rule and all of that, thanks...I have also made many Amsteel whoopie slings, I'm just unfamiliar with Dynaglide and it's strength.
Sorry for trying to give a solution, which the OP approved of, to an uncommon request...I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on, instead of trying to assist...
It looks like it is tipping quite a bit to the left. Mine did the same thing when I received it, and it turned out that the dogbones on the head end were different lengths, which resulted in an...
So, here is a question from someone who knows nothing about dynamic forces, or the like; If I weigh between 150 and 160 pounds, depending on my chicken wing and beer intake that week, and I...
Maybe you should check out the Tentsile.
I'm confused as to why you would want to do this. Hammocks use tarps that hang above you, if you were not aware.
Also, loose(not hitched) Amsteel against Amsteel creates quite a lot of abrasion and fraying.
The way I see it, animals are just curious and hungry. They aren't out to cause us any intentional harm, unless they feel threatened. Laying under a tarp in a hammock is not threatening. Other humams...
Maybe he is adding something new! Speed Hooks 2.0!

These are COGs. The size of the stainless KOLAs are very nice. Especially for winter. The COGs that I have are a bit heavier, but they are the beta versions that timplett sent me to test when...
I tried this for a bit. Didn't see any unusual wear on the amsteel, but I just had some lighter options laying around, so I moved on. I'll be trying the small titanium originals in the near future....
Welcome from Kinzua country!
Honestly, this is kind of embarrassing to post. I cut a ton of pack weight so I can carry my...Pillow Pet. It's the greatest hammock pillow. And it protects me from bears.
I like the boots. What are they?
Wonderful. Thank you all for the info. It seems that the 1.0 will do just fine for me. Maybe the 1.6 will be added to my arsenal as well, just to keep my options open.
Comfortable is definitely the goal here, so that is great to hear.
Thanks for the reassurance, Dutch. What did you use for your thru?
Repeat post
I knew I forgot something important. I am 5' 10" and about 160 lbs. As far as stretch preference, that is unknown at this point.
I am looking to cut some large amounts of weight from my Ridgerunner setup by switching to a gathered end, in preparation of an AT thru hike attempt next March. The Hexon 1.0 is an extremely...
I have seen in quite a few threads that you are an experienced advocate for both the Fronkey and permethrin, so I will take any and all advice you throw out there. Thanks!
Hmm, because of the fact that all my gear is stored in the house, I will be skipping the use of permethrin to ensure the safety of my cats. Hopefully my recent Fronkey purchase will still provide me...
Cool, thanks! I like the Winter Hang.
