Get a bath Lufa from the pharmacie. If you carefully untie the knot holding it all together you will find that it is a long tube of mesh. They work perfectly and are extremely cheap. If you end up...
I hope this new product does not create a surge of orders that will slow down mine! But I am glad I procrastinated until this morning to put in an order because I was able to add some Amsteel to my...
Looking forwards to an OES 10x12 rectangular for general camping purposes.
ti kettle is kind of an oxymoron. Even with the weight saved by making it ti, its much heavier than using the pot you already have and just boiling water in it.
This was probably the most convenient thing i've ever seen.
if you can break your wall without the landlord being aware you can fix too IMO. Although I can understand if you are not willing to break the rules or know how to repair the problem that it would...
Is there really a difference in needing to repair a wall depending on the ownership of said wall?
I bet if someone started this thread randomly on a day that wasn't dutch's birthday people would fall for it and wish him a happybday anyways!
I agree, the post mentions that they tried to contact Lost Biker and if he responds they would change what was written. I do not think it is appropriate to mention someones personal information such...
Good to hear it all worked out! I'm even happier that you posted about it in the first place. To many people gave you a hard time for it, i think its fair that us consumers get to hear about bad...
Right on! If anything starting this thread really became worth it for this Amsteel
Lets do this! :)
I like the figure eight. I'm aslo a fan of the bowline.
well if you wanna be a wise guy, it means you don't need to wait for shipping. you can have it as soon as you go any store that will price match.
That site and the other canadian websites are great places to search for cheaper prices to take advantage of MEC's price match. That way you could most save of shipping costs if there's one near you.
I actually also just made an order from dutch too. Maybe we could have gotten a bunch of us canadians to have a large order sent to one address and then that person shipped the individual orders from...
I'll take the superfly if JToon's wife kills him. I feel sad for missing such a great opportunity :(
The admins pm'ed me to say that I can update it with their help so that won't be nessisary!
Some people brought up a good point that some US vendors have more than reasonable shipping rates to...
Thanks everyone! i've updated the post, keep them coming! I also found an older thread here on HF that mentioned West Marine as a good source for Amsteel Blue!
I'm Starting this thread as a resource for Canadians to avoid those international shipping costs that always put a damper on a good deal. I ask that anyone who knows of a cottage vendor or other...
its 14$ that goes to the state parks which need the money to be able to maintain themselves! We shouldn't be looking for ways to pay less, we should be supporting the.
internatinal shipping is a hassle. you could always pay things forward that don't require it. like paying for someones donating member status or buying a dutch gift certificate. But I do agree with...
I love seeing the international spread!
I bought a TTTM 360 Bugnet from costco, the company was doing a tour of canada, for about 40$. Their site claims it weighs in 15.9oz but my scale says its even less (12oz). maybe my spring scale...
After a little research it come to my attention that these items cannot be shipped internationally across the canadian/us boarder. so unfortunately i can only accept offers from Canada
I want to buy a whisperlite with fuel container (empty of course)
I agree that the 10ft span is ridiculous, it that was the case then there would be enough space to lie perpendicular to the tarp (hypothetically of course) it just doesn't make much sense.
Soooooo, you raise some very good points SilvrSurf, thank you very much for the input! For my setup i wasn't looking for a 4 season setup, having said that i do camp in torrential downpours...
So a custom order seems to be the a good option. any ideas as to dimensions that would be good? The ridge-line wouldn't need to be bigger.
Im thinking cat cut with door, 11-12.5ft ridgeline and...
I did not start this thread to discuss my dual suspension, i started it to see what people though about a tarp that could cover the two of us. I am not worried about the water-bed effect, we are...
This photo that sr1355 posted in This thread is what the tarp would be covering
http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery/files/8/3/9/0/img_4425lr.jpg
preferably what I'm looking for would be similar to the superfly but with a larger width and the ability to pole-mod to make it spacious enough for two hammocks that would be hung from the same tree,...
I am very set on the side-by-side hang method for personal reasons. If the superfly is not large enough (still waiting on more responses) has anyone had experience with tarps that could cover a...
Finding things in Canada is quite the problem it seems! Someone should start a Canadian retailer's thread as a resource for al of us!
Do you think that 2 people could hang under the superfly using one set of hiking poles as spreader bars between the hammock suspensions and the other set of hiking poles for a pole mod? will there be...
It took a while but they finally arrived at my local costco so i went and bought myself a double and the 360 bugnet that they make. I probably won't be able to rig it up and test for a while...
Wow! good price! Thanks for letting me know. I will for sure go pick one up when they get to my city! they'll be here april 1-13 which isn't too far off. Im not too worried about the the TTTM...
Why stop at Katahdin when you could always keep hiking on the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) which starts from the end of the AT and continues up the east coast of Canada!
No, you're not the only one... but for some people (like me) resistance is critical for having the money to buy more important things. such as rent.
you best bet to have one ASAP might be to try a DIY tarp.
If the tarp was being shared by multiple hangers you could justify the extra weight. But i also agree it would be more of a car camping tarp
Last night I had a dream of a tarp wasp with a built in biner. Essentially it was replacing a prusik knot on a continuous ridge-line.... I might need to make a custom order to see if my dream made...
nice tarp! I also like the simplicity of your tarp suspension.
It is much better, but now I miss a little orange! I must be picky
I agree! changing that background orange to a grey would put a lot less strain on my eyes!
I'm also able to post in the For sale forum.
I am able to acess the Pay It Forward subforum. which shouldn't be allowed since i have fewer than 50 posts.
that kayak hammock setup is amazing! i can just picture being on a calm lake and taking a mid day nap, maybe with an adult beverage of choice..... unfortunately i have to go back to the cold snowy...
These two products are very similar, I think the only differences are the kammok straps have 3 extra points of connection, weighs 1oz. more, costs 5$ more and is about 10 inches longer. Minor...
