Being a proud son of Texas we have a self righteous attitude about BBQ, but I have to say, they were some mighty fine ribs.

NE corner of Georgia near Blairsville. We did some camping and hiking on the Woody Gap section of the AT near Preacher's Rock. This was a little side trip we did one evening on the way to Murphy NC...
This is specifically why I drove them for hours down a mountain trail that would have made a Billy goat...
I'm big (6'4" 360lbs) and my parents are both from Ireland. County Kerry and County Cork respectively. Ergo...Big Irish

Any chance you’d be willing to test beetle buckles, because I’m 360lbs and would love to switch over to that suspension?

Love this new bandit that arrived in the mail today. That lime green is potent, but I sure do like it next to that Shoreline Prym1 under quilt.
UGQ quilts just seem to loft better than any of my...
In hine-sight, it looks like I was blasting Dutch in my original post. I promise I was not. I was really asking if a low cost hammock like the 1.7 should be expected to be more vulnerable than...
Good for you! I think for the money HG is the best thing going. I have 2 incubators and I'm strongly looking at those Phoenix for our summer quilts.
Welcome to checking your order status on the...
Thanks, Dutch. As always you're a gentleman and all around righteous dude. At no point was this ever a question about you or your company.
Is the 1.7 a more vulnerable fabric compared to others? I...
I've had amazing customer service from Hammock Gear. I'm sure you'll love your HG stuff too.

I think I want a small stuffable pillow for my hammock. I mostly do hike in sites and prim camping but not thru hikes or super treks. Any opinions on which you like and why?

Looky looky what was sitting on my door step after work today! Wife hasn't gotten out of her hammock since we put it...
Yes, that's what I was wondering. Our mail person is....well he's one of God's special creatures. The envelope it came in was quite road weary.

Thank you. I appreciate the advice. I know he will, he's great people. Sorry I wasn't clear. That is why I said I have no doubt he'll make it right in my OP. My question though was am I asking too...
So I just got my 1.7 netless that Dutch has on ridiculous sale for $30.
Gotta say I'm disappointed...maybe. Not sure if I got a bum one or if I'm just expecting too much for a $30 hammock.
Has...
That's the problem! He has great stuff at great prices. So good that I keep buying more simply because they are so cool and so affordable. Heck, he even has his Hex 1.7 netless on sale for $30 right...
Thanks! Looks like it's time to spend more money with Dutch...again....always....still.

I see you have the adjustable wall plate. I've noticed that on Dutch's site. You happy with it?

I'm 6'4" and I recommend the wide. I don't have a half zipped but I do have both a standard and a wide chameleon. I can make the standard work but the wide is just easier.
I really like the 1.6....
Thanks, I really like it too. Got lucky and he had it on FastTrack this week.

I have both (I a wide any my wife a standard) and I'm 6'4". I am just as comfortable in the standard as I am the wide. I don't have trouble with either the UGQ Zepplin UQs nor the Hammock Gear Econ...
Can you believe this? I bought a $300 sticker from Paul and they threw in a free 20* Zepplin UQ! Man, that's customer service.
In all seriousness, I'm so excited this bad mamma jamma came in the...
I have a 12' Hex and 12' Winter Dream which are perfect for me, BUT, I also almost always have my dogs w me so they appreciate the extra coverage. Obviously I'm not counting ounces and grams w my...
So here's the tale of the tape on my symmetrical chameleon bug net. I took measurements both relaxed laying flat on the ground and at approximate Ridgeline tennsion. Hope this gives you the answer...
That's a great idea! I'm calling Dutch now, again, always.
You had me at "fried pies". Good thing my hammock is a double layer!
I know this doesn't exactly help you right now, but yes, it is a diamond-ish shape. I will lay mine out and give some pics and measurements this evening when I get home.
My dad did a motorcycle camping trip up the ATish area starting in GA. He still talks about it all these years later. We're really excited and looking forward to seeing some beautiful country. I'm...
Flower Girl,
Thanks! We are very excited about it.
Thanks, blue. We are excited to see GA for the first time.
dakotaross, maybe it's because we are so spread out down here, but 20m from the boarder is on the border by our standards. I drive farther than that just to come to work each day. However, you're...
Thank you Inspetorguy. We'll check that out for sure. Being a Texas boy, I won't comment on what y'all call BBQ, but I appreciate a good sammich whether it be BBQ or not. Smoke and meat is smoke and...
SidneyHornblower, thank you. I didn't mention our hiking interests, but yes, we are going to do day hikes w Vogel as a "base camp" as it were. Great videos. Thank you for sharing those w me.
Taking the fam on a hammock camping trip to Vogel State Park in GA for spring break. Looking for any insider tips, tricks, must-sees, etc. Vogel is in the very top NE corner right near the NC border....
I'm sure this can be filed under the "yeah we already know that" folder, but I can't begin to express how good the customer service is with the Hammock Gear crew. They will just flat ruin you when it...
Good for you. I’m literally in mine right now trolling these forums. No doubt you’ll love it. Shipping is stupid fast w Dutch.
Happy side of things, the watermelon crops are looking pretty good this January.
Well played, sir. You win the internet today.
Good for you. All you’ve given to our hobby, you certainly deserve some publicity. I know I’m not the only one who appreciates all you do for us.
Greetings. My screen name's pretty simple. I'm 6'4", 370lbs. and I'm Irish...Big Irish. It's also my SASS cowboy alias.
