Now, to figure out what Sugru is...
I've done this for the past few years, with no ill effects, nor any ticks even when traversing high-grass fields at a Scout camp. I also soaked a Kaffia scarf (idea from here:...
Not every Hennessy - some of us still like the classic entry
How many do you want? :)
I have a 12-qt that is mine (perfectly seasoned, I might add :) ), and I can abscond with a few from the Scout troop for the weekend.
I too have learned the joys of the...

However, I did get in trouble an hour later - had to take it down due to "safety and liability". My bet is that I...

My upgraded Yukon Outfitters parachute, hung on the metal poles with 1" straps, Whoopies, and MSH from Arrowhead. Never leave home without a bed!
Thanks all who came! Johannes, Flatliner, and Codiak who stopped by on the way to the wedding. Next year, let's come up with some more activities for the kids!

Well, as promised, the weather in Nebraska is quite variable. It's sleeting right now on the north side of Lincoln.
However, the forecast is good; I'll be rolling in down there around 6:30. Hope...
I'd like to participate, if you can stand a Husker :)
Jambalaya - always makes me think of Newman:

Hi All,
OK, the nose count I have is 9 total, 1 for Friday, and 8 on Saturday. I'm thinking about heading out Friday night too, since the weather looks quite grand.
How about a potluck dinner...
Hi All!
As the date is getting close, could I have a nose count?
Also, we will be trimming the hang to just one night (Saturday, April 2nd). Weather looks clear at the moment, but bring your...
I found myself invariably looking for the Christmas Pickle
One thought (and I did) - any time these guys come up on Woot, we should plug Hammock Forums. I spent a bit of time unpacking whoopies and cinch buckles for the unwashed masses.
Already dead, unfortunately...
I, on the other hand, use them whenever possible. It seals up the air gaps on my Winternest, and stretches it to conform to the bottom.
Since I use a Superfly, I run them out to the stakes...
Hi All,
I'd like to announce a new hang for Nebraska - the Nebraska Fools Hang! April 1-3, at lovely Bluestem lake (GPS coordinates 40.6228946,-96.7920866):

I made sure to put it up on my Amazon wish list :)
I just put my just-arrived Deuce Scoop through its paces on a Black Hills trip this weekend. It performed spectacularly, even when scraping down into rock-strewn soil. My most favorite thing was it...
I can attest to the strength of this anchor - I bought them at Lowes. I replaced all the rebar on my Three-Person Hammock Stand with these - this stand puts an incredible amount of strain on the...

Of course, there's always the Hennessy Classic, which negates all the flipping over the side [grabbing hat, and making a fast getaway...]
Don't forget - you can use the concentrated stuff off-label, and save quite some $$$. For instance, http://smile.amazon.com/Permethrin-36-8%25-permethrin-Quart-6666105/dp/B0048EY6KY

I picked up the bugnet this time - can't wait to put it into use - now that I've whoopied and ridgelined the 3-year-old double I've had lying around.
I did call Yukon Outfitters about the bugnet -...
Actually, it's just the opposite - the stake end is fixed, and the adjustment is on the tarp.
I keep the guy lines on the tarp. I usually buy red stakes anyway - less chance of loss.
Sure, I even set up the tarp to get some pics!
What I do is tie a bowline for the stake, and then attach a prussik to the tarp. It's an idea I stole from pgibson, and his Tarp Guylines.

For the temps you're talking about, I think you'll be OK. The Thermarest will provide an excellent under-insulation, which is your primary need. Just make sure to inflate it partially, so it...
I just received the Jarbidge yesterday. Paul, I know you advertise it as a 3/4 UQ, but it was a full length on my son (he's 11).
Your work quality was outstanding, even with the volumes being put...
Even if it does come with a ridgeline, you may want to change it up. Derek has a great post on creating a continuous ridgeline. I did mine with braided mason line from Home Depot, and the Nite-Ize...
I just got my shipping notice - thanks for making me one of the 44!

Hi all,
I just returned from Boy Scout camp, a week of fun and frivolity. We had some nights in the 70's and 60's, so I brought along my only UQ - the WinterNest.
Somehow, this 20° UQ kept me...
