Thanks, but on the head side, is the mod at the head or foot? I’m thinking that the “pocket” on the head side might be better if the mod was at the head.

Funny, I can’t sleep on my back at home, but can in a hammock. Go figure.
I had a Robic 1.2 made a few years ago and am very happy with the weight to stretch ratio. 195 lbs here. Sound like MTN 1.3 is even better.
Reviving a question in old posts, havent seen it discussed recently. If you know you have a preferred lay , say feet right head left, is it better for the knotty mods to be placed there? I do have...
RBTR is a great supplier. Shipped ROBIC 1.2 xl super fast to Dutch, Dutch makes 11 ft netless super fast, I get awesome lightweight hammock. I really like this fabric, firm feel for the weight.
I had Dutch make an 11 ft net less in Robic 1.2 xl and I am very happy with it. Very little stretch and super comfortable. For me at least (6’2” 190)
Congratulations and many thanks for the reports and info
As this topic seems to come up now and then, I thought I would pass on this photo taken at a music festival parking lot. Sweet budget set up, including the French press in the right foreground,...
I’m 190 and sleep fine in a Robic 1.2 xl. Very happy with it
11 foot long should do, Im 62.5 and use a Dream Hammock Dangerbird and a Dutch 11 foot netless with a bug net. Both about 66 wide.
AWOL’s book is indeed a good read. I saw that he took over the AT trail guide, was on the shelf at REi.
If you are splicing Amsteel, the Dutch tools make it waaaay easier.
Just made up some dog bones with the larger loop tool from Dutch, really speeds up the process over using a wire home made tool. Now on to the small tools for Zing-it!
2 piece works for me
Knowing Dutch, it will get there sooner that you expect. Super fast and great CS
Great report
Ask Randy about the Robic 1.2 xl. Might be an interesting alternative
Snakeskins plus the nite eze bendy wire wraps for the ends sticking out. Lots of generic ones on Amazon for cheap.
Great thread. Lots of food for thought here
I have shorter Kevlar huggers and a hammock anchor on Amsteel Super light
Like the tie outs on my Dangerbird
Impressive winter tarp pitch.
Cool. Blue is awesome
Thanks for the info.
Monitoring this. Moved to house without good trees.
This sounds like an interesting project. I think I remember reading about a backpacker that has netting strung off a tarp that did not reach the ground and got away with it because mosquitos did not...
+1 on pay attention to length. Most of the hammocks on Amazon are short. FYI, for the el cheapo kid backyard hammock, its hard to beat the CutieQueen hammocks, if you can get over the name.
yes, Sawyer.
I just ordered a bug net from them, worked on a slight alteration of their stock design They were super responsive, quick and solid craftsmanship.
For what’s it worth, I’m 6’3” and use an 11’ 68” or so wide Hammock. I can’t sleep on my back in a bed, but can in a hammock. Go figure.
I use yellow Zing-it and Dutch bling
ESEE aka Randalls Adventure Training forums has a decent amount of Hammock folks
I just decided to give Robic 1.2 xl a try for a lightweight wide hammock. A very light wide set up, with a little more load limit.
That tree anchor set up looks great. I have the Hammock Anchors that slide up Amsteel attached to Kevlar tree loops and Dutch clips.
Weight of Hammock is 264 grams, stuff sack 12 grams, my tree hugger and hammock anchor suspension 82 grams. Very happy with the weight of this set up.
Working with a vender on something interesting.
Special ordered one in a SL of Robic 1.2 XL. Both Dutch and RBTR could not have been more responsive and quick. Im really looking forward to breaking this in, super light and the craftsmanship is...
Just ordered one of these. Now maybe I can actually splice zing it!
Thanks , good idea
Thanks, SLD not making the Nexus anymore. Have 11 foot netless, so just looking for something like the Nexus was.
Does anyone know of a cottage maker producing a version of this D-I-Y style (as opposed to a bottom entry Fronkey)? Thanks
How much load is on a structural ridge line? If you wanted to go the detachable route, could you use a mini biner or do you need something more load bearing?
This is a pretty easy setup for a continuous ridge line
dutch stinger continuous ridgeline

Hexon 1.0 wide? One can hope.
How does the stretch on this compare to Hexon 1.0 for a 190 lb guy?
Does anyone have a stuffing technique other than having the tarp hang down and stuffing it like a sausage? It's a pretty sizable package compared to a folded tarp. I have a tadpole and snake skins...
Dutch likes the Hexon 1.0. I'd love to see a wide version of that fabric.
Summer is Woobie top and Exped Multimat below.
What about Hammock Anchors? I just spliced up a pair to try.
