What did you land on? How is it working? I have 12' tarp with doors.
I am in the same boat. What have you found out?
I am in the market and have saved for a Tato, but they've been out of stock since March...it is now June. They have no idea when they will get any...
I am looking for a Tato Hammock Stand to purchase. I have been waiting for one to come in on Dutch's site since the beginning of May and nothing yet. I emailed the Tato company and they don't have...
My husband has a pad w/ R value of 4.4 and just bought another one with the R value of 2.0 in hopes of layering to keep warmer. Will this give him an R value of 6.4? What temps could he get down to...
If you have a friend that can come over, put them in the hammock and see how things fit. Make sure the UQ is snug, but not so tight that it’s compressing its loft. If you don’t use an UQP, you might...
I have read somewhere else where you have mentioned the vapor barrior. I'm not against trying anything. I want to be in my hammock more than out of it, lol. I just need to figure these things out...
I wear a beanie. I quickly discovered what a huge benifit a hat and even gloves were for me.
I have a zero degree underquilt as well. I'm pretty sure there aren't any problems with it b/c I have had drafts in there when I first got it, but I think I have it fine tuned it in. I'm just a cold...
Great advice, ty!
I wore all the clothes and put the blankets on top and was probably doing exactly what u said, trapping in the moisture AND compressing the down.
I won't have enough money for...
Ty for your reply.
I believe it's from the top....I'm just cold in general really...I don't feel a breeze or cold air from any one pareticular place...I'm just cold all over. But looking at other...
Ty! fluffing it up is another great idea I've never tried. I figured I was overlayering, but I HATE to be cold and I've always worn a ton of clothes to bed since i was a kid.
I just saw your video...
This is GREAT advice,ty. I really, really like my tq and I've heard such awesome things about loco libre, I did A LOT of research before I purchased one, so I had very high hopes that I could use it...
I have a zero degree under quilt.
I bought a 0 degree loco libre top quilt last spring or so. I can only seem to get it down to 45 degrees and then I really have to start layering my clothes. I have accepted that I am a cold sleeper,...
Tx for your two cents. I'll take anything I can get:)
I have a Hennessey and hang in my back yard, but planning the AT in 2028 and starting to lighten up the gear. Haven't got the "eye" yet b/c I...
I'm going to buy a Chameleon this weekend and saw the options for the suspension were the beetle buckles and the whoopie sling. I've decided beetle buckle is a better option, but didn't know if there...
Found it. Got it. I see that now. I'm going DCF. I want lighter. When I looked into price, w/ the add ons I needed, there ended up only being a $50 difference. So for $50 I'm going lighter. What sort...
What is the difference between dynema material and performance and ultralight xenon?
Great advice. I've thought about the guy lines and I've filed that in the back of my mind. That's the best option IF I have enough trees properly placed.
I've seen people not lift the tarp in rain...
This looks like a lot to take backpacking trips.
Super! I will look him up and compare prices! Ty!
Oh perfect! Thank you! I will get in contact with them and see what they can do. Then I will weigh my options between which is cheaper overall, a protector and a smaller tarp or just the larger tarp....
I have a two fold question. I am purchasing a winter tarp from Dutch in the next month or so for the mere reason that I bought a 3/4 length UQ that I can't find an UQ protector for. Does anyone make...
Awesome. tx!
I'm somewhat new here...to the whole hammocking community...but I live near Cincinnati....in between Cincinnati and Dayton. So, when and where is this hang? What is it usually like? Are there other...
AAHHH, that explains it. Huh. Well, is there a way I can save it somewhere for a later date? Can I create a folder or something to put it in maybe?
Ok, newish here, so may be a silly question, but how do you sticky something? This is a great article to do that with, but I can't figure out how.
So I'd buy these at dutch's site?
EVO Loops have kind of replaced the need for soft shackles for me, but the SS I made years ago are still holding up.
Yea, I saw Jason from...oh shoot, I forget, "outdoors something"...he...
Mine has the soft shackles to connect to the tarp. I love it because I can hang the tarp and then slide the soft shackles back and forth along the line to get the tarp in just the right spot.

Not real familiar with zing it. I am going to purchase a winter tarp...would zing it be okay to use on it with some of dutch's tarp flys?
I ordered a HG Phoenix 0 degree UG last Sunday and have a three week wait. Much shorter wait than I anticipated! Woo Hoo! I ordered a 0 degree ghost pepper TQ from Loco Libre Nov. 8th and have 20...
So when I order my hammock, will they come seperately or do I tell him I want continuous loops and whoopies seperately? It asks which suspension I want when I order the hammock, do I say "continuous...
So if I understand this correctly, whoopies are better for short distances between trees? My plan is to get them on a Darien and have cinch buckles for back up. I usually try to hang 12-15 feet.
don't forget to sign up for HG's messenger list receive free shipping on your first order.
Where is this messenger list? All I could find was a place to sign up for emails, so I did that, but I...
Tx for sharing this. It looks just beautiful. And you look very happy :)
Tx Dublinin! That was hugely helpful. I don't consider it lazy at all, really. I know when I winter camp, my fingers are going to freeze and the less I have to fiddle with the better. Also, when I...
I haven't heard of this "sleeve" before. I'm new and currently putting together my first complete system. So, do I understand this right...the sleeve is like a huge snakeskin that wraps around your...
Perfect, ty.
I was wondering the same...when I FINALLY get my topquilt in 4 more weeks (aaarrrggg!!!) how do I store it? Does it HAVE TO hang or can I fold it and put it loosely on a shelf? I really don't have...
I would feel real bad if I knew I was somewhat responsible for your car, anticipating a somewhat sheltered winter in the garage, found itself relegated to freezing nights in your driveway.
...
Point taken. Thank you. You're right. They may very well be just complimenting my research, your right.
I have thought and thought about places to hang inside, trust me! I'd do it in a heartbeat! We...
That's a beauty! I'm ordering my underquilt tomorrow while I wait for the topquilt. I'll get a 900 fill with 2 extra oz. of fill in a 0 degree bag. Will the extra ounces bring it to below zero I...
This is killing me! I WANT TO HANG!!! This is a nice set up! Tx for sharing!
I would’ve mentioned this too, but ATGirl wasn’t looking for things that hang from the ridgeline. Since I’m using an Eldorado, which has a ridgeline that is easy to reach, it super useful.
I don't...
Perfect..single skin it is. Thank you for being understanding. I feel bad asking so many questions and sometimes I feel as if some of the community here is shaming me for asking so many questions,...
Yea, I think this is what I visualized after I saw Shug's video. All my bigger stuff will go in the side sling and the peak shelf will just hold my small stuff that I wont need often like keys,...
Tx Shug! Now I have MORE options to think about...lol. Actually this was VERY helpful. I liked seeing how they actually worked, how they lay when your in the hammock...I think you sold me on the side...
I looked this up. Can I ask, why do you prefer this one over the mesh looking ones? Just curious.
I'm a researcher by nature, sorry. It's winter and I'm researching b/c I don't have the equipment to wintercamp yet. I want to be armed with knowledge to make a decent purchase in the spring. There's...
